Today on this 2013 Ford F350 Super Duty, we're going to show you the Stromberg Carlson 100 series 5th wheel tailgate, part number VG-97-100. Okay, let's go ahead and try it out. We'll back up to our trailer and in this case a gooseneck trailer and see how useful it is. First off you can see it has an open design. It improves your field of vision when backing up to your trailer. You can see the nice, big, convenient cut out for towing a 5th wheel or a gooseneck trailer. Stromberg Carlson Tailgate Installation - 2013 Ford F-350 VG-97-4000- Video
Today on our 2013 Ford F-350 Crew Cab, we'll be installing the Stromberg Carlson 4000-series 5th-wheel louvered tailgate with lock, part number VG-97-4000. Because this particular vehicle has a backup camera, which is mounted in the tailgate, we'll need to unplug that. To unplug it, you just squeeze the tab, pull it apart, and in this particular case, as you can see here, there's an orange cap that'll go on top of the factory harness once we've unplugged the tailgate. To get the plug apart, we'll go ahead and squeeze the tab and gently pull apart. Now, we're ready to go ahead and remove the tailgate. To do this, we'll use a small flat-head screwdriver, to lift the tab up and release the safety cable or the cable holding the tailgate. Once we have that done, we'll open the tailgate just a little bit and lift up on the passenger side. When we do that, it'll lift the tailgate off of its tab. more
