The HR1 from Hollywood Racks does extend out to 13 and a half inches, but typically your tire sizes go from 12 and a half and then back up to the 15, 15 and a half, those sizes.Now, we can so over some of the similarities and differences in our racks. All the racks that we have here today are designed to work with two bikes so you can, you and a partner, put your bikes on there and hit the road.All of racks are designed with folding arms, so instead of those arms staying extended out, we're able to tuck them down and out of the way. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2013 Jeep Wrangler we're test fitting the Yakima SpareRide. This is a spare tire mounted two bike rack. It's designed to work with most of your tire sizes that you'll have on the Jeep. It's going to be anywhere from 7 11/16 inch wide all the way up 12 1/2. The part number on it is Y02599.This bike rack is going to use three cradles to hold each bike in position. Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the Malone Spare Tire Mount RunWay Three-Bike Rack, part number MPG2148.The Malone RunWay Three-Bike Rack for spare tire mounts enables you to carry up to three bikes with varying styles, ranging from your mountain bikes to your alternate frame bikes to your road bikes and to some kids' bikes as well. It does come with a stabilization strap to wrap around all the frames of the bikes as well as the bike rack itself to keep all bikes together while traveling.It'll hold your bike in place at two points. The top frame straps here, and with some cases, such as the alternate frame bike racks, you may need an adapter bar, which is sold separately on etrailer.com. Since this bike rack doesn't come with one, Malone also offers various cable locks, which you can also purchase separately on etrailer.com.The cradles are padded to ensure there's going to be no scratches or abrasions to the frame of your bike, and it also has grooves in it, so if you have cables like this one it won't get smashed up against the frame once installed and actually will sit in those grooves. I've gone ahead and taken the bikes off just to show you a few more features. Now, with the cradles, I would like to point out that these are adjustable back and forth and side to side, if necessary, by loosening and tightening the screws here and then retightening them up once you have them in the spot that you need them.Notice that the arms are angled out in kind of a strange fashion. more

Malone Spare Tire Bike Racks Review - 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited we're going to be test fitting the Malone spare tire mount Runway 3 bike rack, part number MPG2148. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike is attached to the rack we're going to have two straps up at the tops here, then we're going to have these padded cradles underneath to ensure that the frame of our bike doesn't have any scratches or abrasions on it after installing. The cradles can be adjusted back and forth to accommodate loading and you do this by loosening and tightening the screws at the base here and getting them to the location you need them.Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside, remove the straps, and just lift it right off. With the bike rack in this position, I'm going to give you a quick measurement, measuring from the edge of our tire to our outer edge we've added about 27 inches to the rear of the vehicle. When the bike is not in use, or is taken off, you can fold these down by turning these handles on either side up to put them in the unlocked position, you can see that where the teeth separate, and then you can actually lower this down, and fold it flat against the tire. more

Today on our 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited we're doing a test fit of the Yakima SpareRide spare-tire-mount 2-bike rack. That part number is Y02599. Now keep in mind that we're using this with tire size 225/75R17, and we're going to have enough clearance here. Now we've already got our bike installed in place. We're first going to show you how we secure it down. We have two cradles in place with three straps, two on our frame and one as our anti-sway strap in the back. more
