Yakima Q Tower Roof Rack Installation - 2008 Toyota Highlander

Today, on our 2008 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Q Towers Roof Rack System, part number Y00409, Y00124, and Y00699. With our Q clips, Q towers and round bars assembled according to the included instructions, we'll begin our test fit by first opening the front passenger and driver's side door. With that done, we'll go ahead and place the front bar onto the front of our roof. We'll need to measure 9 inches from the front part of the glass to the first part of our tower. We're going to make this measurement on both the passenger and driver's side of the vehicle. This will ensure that the front bar is perpendicular to the roof, and the pads on the underside of the Q tower and clips, contour to the roof line correctly. Once this is done, we can lift up on the black cover to tighten down the silver hand bolt on the inside of the tower. more
