Today we have our 2012 Toyota Four Runner, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Yakima Core Bar Timberline Tower Roof Rack System. Now this system is specifically designed to mount to your raised rails on your Four Runner. As you can see I've already got in place just to give you a good idea of what it looks like. Now with this, you're gonna be able to carry roof mounted accessories, things like bike racks, kayak carriers, cargo boxes, and more. It features 50 inch long steel crossbars. You could see here how they span across the whole roof, that way you'll be able to carry not one or two bike racks, but maybe three bike racks if that's what you're into, possibly even two kayaks.Now I mentioned that they are steel. more

I've already got it set up, just to give you a good idea what it looks like. This system is specifically designed to mount to your raised rails on your 4Runner. You're going to be able to carry roof mount accessories, things like bike racks, kayak carriers, cargo boxes, and much more. Now you'll notice we have a lot of bar overhang here. The crossbars are actually 70" long, these are going to allow us to maximize our carrying capacity with our accessories. more

You can see here how they span across the whole roof and then some on top of our 4Runner. This is going to allow us to maximize our accessory capacity. Malone AirFlow2 Universal Roof Rack Installation - 2012 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, we're going to be test fitting the Malone AirFlow2 Universal Roof Rack for raised side rails, part number MPG215. The Malone AirFlow2 is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof, while freeing up space inside your vehicle. You can carry bike racks, cargo baskets, cargo boxes, kayak carriers, ski and snow board carriers, among other things.But flipping open our cover here, you can see it can accept t-track accessories. Now in some cases you may need to remove the rubber strip, insert your accessories, and then cut the strip to length, and put it around that to cut down the wind noise and drag. And it also comes with a rubber strip that goes underneath once it's installed, that you would also have to measure out and cut, and this again cuts down that wind noise and drag. That, as well as the aerodynamic shape of the bars.The Malone towers also have locks to them. more

Malone Roof Rack Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Today in our 2012 Toyota 4-Runner we're gonna be test fitting the Malone Steel Top Universal Roof Rack System for our factory raised side rails. This is gonna be part number MPG203. We have our rear bar set on our table here along with our locking end caps and our tightening tool. We already have our front bar installed. Let's go ahead and take a look at that real quick. We have it set towards the front and we measured back from this edge here on both sides the same distance to make sure it was in the same place on both sides. Then we measured from the point here out for our crossbar overhang to make sure it was even on those sides as well. more

Rhino Rack Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Today on our 2012 Toyota 4-Runner, we're doing a test fit of the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform, that is 58" long by 47" wide, and the part number for that is RR42115BF. We already have three of our four mounts down and in place. We're going to secure our fourth one back here on our passenger side. I'm just going to step up. We've got that bracket placed down already, it's simple and easy to move around when you need to, so it slides up and down the length of our platform. We're going to take bottom bracket and secure that in place. We've got our two bolts, and we've got our tool as well. more

Whispbar Flush Bar Roof Rack Installation - 2012 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner we'll be test fitting the Whispbar Raised Factory Side Rail Kit, part numbers wb-s7 and wb-k328. We'll begin our test fit by placing the front crossbar onto the front of our roof. Now on this particular model there are stickers indicating where to put the front crossbar or you can measure from a fixed point on your factory side rails on both sides.Once we've established this position we can use the included Allen key to tighten down the silver bolt which we'll pinch the clamps together tightly against the raised side rails on our 4Runner. We'll do this on both the passenger and driver's side of the vehicle to ensure that the front crossbar is perpendicular to the raised side rails. Once everything is all tightened down and secured we can replace the black plastic covers that we removed before.We'll now place our rear crossbar onto the rear of our roof. Once again there are stickers indicating where to place the rear crossbar. more

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner we'll be test fitting the Thule Crossroads Roof Rack System, part numbers thlb58 and th450. We'll begin our test fit by placing the front load bar onto the front of our roof. We'll then measure from a fixed point on our raised side rails to the first part of our foot. We'll measure this on both the passenger and driver's side of the vehicle to ensure that the front load bar is perpendicular to the raised side rails of our 4Runner.We'll then measure the overhang on each side to make sure the load bar is even. Once we've established this position we'll pop off the cap of the foot and bring the rubber-coated steel straps around the underside of the raised side rail.We'll hook it back into position and use the included Allen key to secure the straps tightly against the raised side rail. We'll then repeat these steps for the other side. more

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, well be test fitting the Rola Sport Series Roof Rack with RBU Mounting System for raised factory side rails, part number 59899. Well begin our test fit by placing the front crossbar onto the front of our roof. Well slide the clamps onto the raised side rails and measure from a fixed point onto the raised side rails for the first part of the clamps. Well measure from a fixed point from both the drivers side and passengers side of the vehicle to ensure the front crossbar is perpendicular to the raised side rails of our 4Runner. Once weve established this position, we can then tighten down the black T-handle to secure the clamps tightly against the raised side rails of our 4Runner. Well then push in the black T-handle and lock in place. more

Rhino-Rack SXBS Roof Rack Installation - 2012 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Today on our 2012 Toyota 4runner well be test fitting the Rhino rack sports cross bars 50 inches in length, part #SXBS8. Well begin our test fit by placing the front cross bar onto the front of our roof. Well then measure from a fixed point on our raised side rails to make sure we get the cross bar perpendicular to the raised side rail of our 4runner. Once weve established this position well pop off the black end caps exposing the silver bolt. Well use the elongated allen key to tighten down the silver bolt allowing the claws to pinch tightly against the raised side rails. Now, youre going to want to tighten down each side a little bit at a time so that the overhang of the cross bar doesnt favor one side of the vehicle. With that all tightened down well place our rear cross bar onto the rear of our roof. Well then measure the cross bar spread. Now the cross bar spread is the measurement from the center of the front cross bar to the center of the rear cross bar. more

We can also measure the amount of overhang to make sure the bar is even on both sides. We'll then pop off the black cover of the foot to bring the rubber coated steel straps around the other side of the raised side rail. more
