Thule Roof Rack Review - 2014 Jeep Compass TH460R- Video

Adam: Hi everyone, Adam with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack System on our 2014 Jeep Compass. This is going to allow you to put all sorts of stuff on top of your car that's going to take up room in your cab.So as you can see, I do have this front bar already mounted and I do have this fit kit mounted, and I'm going to show you how to put on the bar and these feet, so let's just get started.One thing to note, you do want the skinnier side to be facing back kind of like an airplane wing. It's more aerodynamic that way and it's going to cut down on that road noise when you're going down the road.What you want to do is you want to start just by lifting this up and lining up the holes the best you can and start threading it into place. One thing to note, do not fully tighten these down, as it does lock these feet to the bar and it won't allow you to adjust the distance on each side. So just for now all we want to do is just get the thread started. more

Yakima Q Tower Roof Rack Installation - 2014 Jeep Compass- Video

Today on our 2014 Jeep Compass, we'll be test fitting the Yakima Q Tower Roof Rack System, using Part Numbers Y00409, Y00124, Y00699, and Y00634. With our roof rack assembled according to the instructions, we'll begin our test fit by opening both front doors. We'll grab our front bar and place it onto the front part of our roof. To make sure that our bar is in the right position, we need to measure 16" from the leading edge of the windshield to the closest point of the foot pack. We'll do this on both sides to ensure that our feet are in line with each other. We'll make sure that the clamps go around the roof line of our vehicle, and then we can use the thumb screw inside the foot pack to tighten it down and then close the lever. We'll do this on both sides to ensure that our bar is fully secure. We'll open our rear doors, grab our rear bar, and place it onto the rear part of our roof. And to make sure this in the correct location, we need to measure 32" from the center of the front bar to the center of the rear bar. more

Thule Podium Roof Rack Installation - 2014 Jeep Compass- Video

Today on our 2014 Jeep Compass we'll be test fitting the Thule Podium Roof Rack System using part numbers THLB50, TH460 and THKIT3097. With everything already assembled according to the included instructions, the first thing we need to do is remove the plastic caps which cover up the threaded holes. Along the flush mounted side rails, there are four sets of two plastic caps which thread in into the threaded holes. We'll need to unscrew them so that we can access the silver threaded holes. With this done, we'll need to place the front load bar onto the front of our roof. The holes in the rubber coated metal plate should line up with the holes in our flush rails. We'll need to take the Allen bolts to go through the holes of our plates and into the holes of our flush rails. more
