So big picture on roof racks, what are they good for Really it's going to be a way to mount up accessories especially with something like our Type R right here. We are gonna have limited options to carry accessories because we might not have any hitch options or any very desirable hitch options and a roof rack is a great way to get some extra storage space. Whether we choose to mount up a bike rack up here, a box for some extra storage on road trips, a basket, a kayak carrier really any sort of possibilities are endless with this, and it gives you a lot of room to expand and carry extra stuff. more

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and I'm gonna show you how to install the Inno roof rack system with the Through feet and the 51 inch long crossbar and the custom fit kit for your 2019 Honda Civic. So this is the Honda Civic Sedan and it's a cool looking car, but what if you wanna use it for other things besides looking cool Maybe you wanna carry around other accessories like your roof box or your kayaks or your roof basket. What you then need is a roof rack system. So with this having a naked roof, you are gonna have to get the custom fit kit that fits around your doors as well as the towers and the crossbars that are the right length. So we'll talk about that and how well it fits your car and what other options you might have. That's going to be our Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero crossbars. These are also available in silver with part number RRVA126S-2. The Rhino-Rack 2500 series legs for the crossbars, part number RRRLKVA and part number DK453. That's going to be our custom-fit kit for our roof rack legs. The Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero crossbar system is going to be an aerodynamic crossbar system that allows you to carry any kind of vehicle accessory on your vehicle's roof, whether those are roof-mounted bike racks, cargo baskets, or ski and snowboard carriers. more

Today on our 2009 Honda Civic we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Q Towers roof rack system. We're using the 58" round bars, part number Y00409; the Q Towers foot pack, part number Y00124; and two Fit Kits, part numbers Y00699 and Y00731. Now I've already pre-assembled three of our foot packs but I want to show you how the fourth one's going to go together. You open the end of your Q Towers pack and you're going to see this gold plate inside. We'll take our Fit Kit clip and we're going to slide that in underneath, being sure that it slides into the slots located on both sides. Then we'll take our tumbler, slide up through. Now it's only going to go in there one way. more

Yakima Q Tower Roof Rack Installation - 2012 Honda Civic

Today on our 2012 Honda Civic Sedan, well be test fitting the Yakima Round Bar Roof Racking System, part numbers Y00409, Y00699, Y00731 and Y00124. With our roof rack already assembled according to the instructions, well begin our test fit by placing the front crossbar onto the front of the vehicle. Well measure seven inches from the front part of the glass to the first part of the tower on the front crossbar.Well do this on both the passenger and the driver side of the vehicle ensuring that crossbar is perpendicular to the vehicle. Once we have established this measurement, well tighten down the bolts inside of the que towers and clamp down the front black plastic cap securing the crossbar to the front of the vehicle. Well now place the rear crossbar on the rear of the vehicle and well measure the crossbar spread. This is the measurement from the center of the front crossbar to the center of the rear crossbar. more

Thule Traverse Roof Rack Installation - 2012 Honda Civic

Today on our 2012 Honda Civic, well be test fitting a Thule Roof Rack System. We will be using the 58 square load bars, part number THLB58, the Traverse foot pack, and part number TH480, as well as the fit kit for our Civic which is part number THKIT1425. We already have our load bars assembled according to the instructions, so now we are ready to mount them up on our vehicle. First we will need to open up the driver and passenger front doors, well set the front load bar assembly up on top of our roof and to position it correctly well measure 10-5/8 from the edge of the windshield to the leading edge of the Traverse foot, we will make sure these measurements are the same on both sides, so then we will use the included Accutite tools to tighten the feed to our vehicle. Now we can put on our rear load bar. Again we will open the rear passenger and driver doors and set the bar up on top of the roof. more

Today on this 2007 Honda Civic Sedan, we're going to be test fitting a Yakima Roof Rack System. We'll be using their 58-inch CrossBars, part number Y00409, the Q Towers, part number Y00124, the Q131 Clips, part number Y00731, and the Q99 Clips, part number Y00699. We already have our roof rack assembled according to the instructions and now we're ready to fit it up on our vehicle. We'll take the front crossbar assembly and set it up on top of our roof after we open the front passenger and driver doors. To position the front bar correctly, we'll need to measure 8 inches from the leading edge of the tower to the ends of the windshield on both sides. Once we've done that, we can adjust the tension screws on the towers and lock them down. more

Today, we have with us a 2007 Honda Civic Sedan and we're going to be test fitting a Thule Roof Rack System. We'll be using the 58-inch Square Load Bars, part number THLB58, the Traverse Feet, part number TH480, and the Feet Kit for this vehicle, part number THKIT1425. We already have our roof rack assembled according to the instructions so now we're ready to fit it up on the vehicle. The first thing we need to do is open the front passenger and driver's side doors. We'll sit the front bar assembly up on top of the roof and then we can position it. To position the front bar, we need to measure from the edge of the windshield to the leading edge of the Traverse foot on either side. more

Today on this 2011 Honda Civic, we'll be test fitting a Sportrack frontier roof rack. We've already crossbars assemblies put together and set to the proper measurements. So now we're ready to go ahead and mount them up on the roof. We'll take our front crossbar assembly and lay it up on top of the roof. To position the crossbar assembly properly on the front, we need to measure 10 inches from the seam where the two doors meet to the center of the front bar. The feet on this Sportrack can swivel, so make sure that they are sitting as flat as possible on top of the roof of your vehicle. more

Rhino-Rack Aero Roof Rack Installation - 2010 Honda Civic

Alright today on this 2010 Honda Civic were going to do a test fit of the Rhino Rack Roof system. Were going to start off with our bars assembled, and then we will go ahead and open up the doors, and put them in place. We will start off with the first load bar, we will put it on top of the roof line and then we will put it in the proper place using measurements. What we are going to do is measure from the center of the door jam here, to the center of the roof rack and thats going to be 11-13/16. Alright next we are going to do the second rail and basically provide the same procedure as before except we will measure from the center of the front rail for proper placement. On our second measurement from the center of the crossbar to center of the crossbar will 27-9/16. more
