Best 2017 GMC Terrain Roof Rack Options

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 GMC Terrain we're going to be taking a look at the best roof rack options available. The three roof rack systems we're going to be taking a look at today are going to be the Yakima JetStream roof rack system, and then the Thule AeroBlade roof rack system, and finally the Inno Aero roof rack system. While all three of these roof rack systems have their similarities, we're going to be focusing on their differences. We're going to start with the rubber strips at the top of the bars. Now looking at both the Inno and the Yakima, you can use T-track accessories just like you can with the Thule. The slight difference between these three is, with the Yakima and the Inno, all you have to do is push down the rubber strip and push your T-track accessory in place without having to cut the strip itself. However, to do that you have to remove the end caps and make that happen. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 GMC Terrain, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima JetStream Roof Rack System, consisting of part numbers Y00425, using the Jet Stream cross bars 50 inches long, these also come in silver. We'll also be using part number Y00147, and these are the TimberLine Towers for the Yakima Crossbars, particularly for the factory raised side rails. The JetStream Roof Rack System is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof, while freeing up space inside your GMC Terrain. This can carry anything from bike racks, to cargo baskets, to cargo boxes. The JetStream bars have an aerodynamic shape to them, and the coupled with the rubber strip at the top, and the one we cut to length underneath, that'll help cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive, which will reduce the need for having a fairing that you would have, say, for round or square bars because those can produce quite a bit of noise.Removing the end cap, you can see where that rubber strip is, and this is actually able to have T-Track accessories installed in it. But unlike the other racks out there, instead of having to remove the rubber strip and cut it to length. This simply pushes down when you insert your T-Track accessory through there, therefore eliminating the need to cut the strip at any point. The end caps are removable, very easily, and have a plastic piece here which you can take out and replace with a Yakima Same Key System Lock Core. Now they are sold separately, however they're sold separately so you can buy several at once and make them keyed alike with the accessories that you're hauling. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 GMC Terrain, we're going to be doing a test for the Yakima CoreBar TimberLine Tower Roof Rack System, using part numbers Y00421 and Y00147.The Yakima CoreBars let you build an aerodynamic, heavy-duty roof rack system on your GM Terrain. Compared to round or square bars, the teardrop shape is going to allow you to control air flow to significantly decrease wind noise and vibration. The CoreBars are made out of a heavy-duty steel construction, which enables them to carry more weight than traditional roof rack systems. That's up to 220 pounds, so you'll want to be sure and check with your GMC's owners manual to see if your roof can support that much. The CoreBars are attacked to the TimberLine Towers, which allow them to be attached to your raised rails. They secure with a steel strap that's rubber coated so it won't harm or scratch your raised rails. Each TimberLine Tower can be locked to further secure it to your GMC. more
