Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Alpha Systems butyl tape for RV weatherproofing, and this is a three quarter inch wide by one eighth inch thick, 30 foot long roll of butyl tape. That's gonna function as a gasket for a weatherproof seal when you're mounting RV or marine components such as vents, AC units, windows, and doors, and areas where these fixtures need to be drilled, nailed, or bolted in place. This rubbery material is going to stick to the underside of the mounting brackets and installation points before pressing into place on your RV or boat. This will prevent moisture from getting into your nail or screw holes. more

This is gonna be great for, for instance like what we're doing here, where we're replacing a roof on a camper and when you start taking off that old membrane, some of your seam tape is gonna come off as well. So then you're gonna have to replace that before you put the new membrane on. You want to make sure that all of your joints are sealed very well so water can not get in between your wood and your siding and create mold and mildew on the inside of your installation. more

This is a 4" wide by 6' long roll of tape that's going to help seal joints, seams and damage on your RV's roof. This will adhere to almost all RV roof materials, skylights, windows, awnings, and more. So if you do have a hole in your roof or something like that, this is going to be a great option to help cover up those holes, make them waterproof again, to fix any punctures and prevent any water from getting in and causing problems.This will be a permanent repair for your RV roof and it can be installed ideally on a dry, clean surface, but it can also be installed even if the surface is wet, so if you're out in the middle of a rainstorm and you notice a leak in your roof, you can go up and put this on there. Obviously you just want to be careful being on the roof while it's wet, but this is a nice tan color, so it should match the color of your tan roof. more

And today I'm going to walk through how to reseal the top of your camper RV.Every five to seven years, you need to look at the seal that's going around any of your components on top of your roof and along your sides. If any of it is cracking or coming up like this, it needs to be replaced. The reason we want to replace it is because anything that is going down the roof has something that is going down inside of the roof or inside the ceiling. So if we don't have anything sealing the edge, what can happen is water can get underneath and it can cause damage inside your roof. more

This will adhere to just about any kind of material, including wood, metal, fiberboard and a variety of roofing membrane materials.It is a pressure-sensitive tape, so all you have I have to do is put it in place and use like a steel roller or something like that, to make sure that it is going to adhere properly.
