It's a two piece system, so you will need to pick up a pintle hook separately and mount it to that plate. So you can use this ball mount to hook up to a regular coupler using the two-inch ball that's included. Swap this out for a two and 5/16 ball if you want to. But it comes included with the pintle lock up top held in place by a latch, and it springs into place locking in and then pinning in place so that you can't remove it. So if you have a lunette ring trailer you can drop that down over, put the pintle lock in place and tow that type of trailer too. more

Whether your truck is your work horse or also your recreational vehicle to get your camper or boat or whatever around, it's really nice to have the availability when towing to swap over from a lunette ring or multiple different sizes of balls. Hello neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Curt adjustable pintle mount for a two and a half inch hitch. Now, this is going to be great when towing your trailers with the lunette ring, and this allows for a lot of adjustability. Now, if you consistently tow a trailer, that's the same height every single time, and you're not really swapping around, there's other options, so that way you don't have to get something as large as this on your vehicle. So having the mounting holes is really nice because when you need to adjust for a different height lunette ring range, from trailer to trailer, you can do that fairly easily by changing out the bolts to whatever configuration you need. So with the 14 hole configuration, you're actually able to get six different height mounting points. more

Now this pintle hook, here, will provide a nice attachment point for your trailer that's equipped with a lunette ring coupler, and a lunette ring couplers are normally found on heavy duty trailers, like construction trailers, that need a secure connection on uneven terrain, but still need to allow for more movement at the attachment point than your standard ball hitches. This was designed to fit lunette ring couplers that have an inner ring diameter of 2-1/2 inches. So, basically, your lunette ring would just, pretty much, be like a round donut shape, and the inner portion has to be a diameter of at least 2-1/2 inches. more

Today we're going to take a look at the Curt Secure Latch Pintle Hitch with the 2-5/16" ball and a 20,000 pound weight capacity. Now this pintle hook and hitch ball combo lets you hook up your heavy duty trailers to your tow vehicle, provides an attachment point for the lunette ring coupler and it also has the 2-5/16th inch diameter hitch ball to connect to standard ball couplers.Now this secure latch pintle hook is designed to mount to the secure latch adjustable slotted pintle mounts, which we do sell separately on our websites and it's listed on this product page as a related product but basically that pintle mount is a slotted mounting plate, so it allows for quick, easy height adjustment of the pintle hook and ball. You can see the two holes, let me flip this around. Two holes on each side. You put the bolts through there and then it'll slide up and down onto that adjustable mount to get it at the correct height you need.Now this does also use the auto locking system, which secures your lunette ring without manual coupling. I do want to demonstrate how that works. more

Today we're going to take a look at the CURT SecureLatch pintle hook and two inch ball with the adjustable mount for two and a half inch hitches. Now, this pintle hook and hitch ball combo with the mount will let you hook up heavy duty trailers to your tow vehicle. The mount portion right here will slide into your vehicle's two and a half inch hitch receiver opening, and right up front here provides the attachment point for a lunette ring coupler, and the hitch ball will connect to standard ball couplers. If you notice on the mount, it has the slots right here, so it allows the hook and hitch ball combo to slide up or down to whatever position you need for easy height adjustment, and it's a one tool height adjustment. All you'd have to do is loosen the nuts and it'll slide up or down, put it into position you need. There's no disassembly required.This also features the auto locking system, which will secure your lunette ring without manual coupling. more
