How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com. And we're taking a look at the Swagman XTC2 Bike Carrier on the back of our 2022 Chevrolet Equinox. So the XTC2 Tilt Bike Carrier is a frame mounted bike carrier where you're gonna have a padded hook that secures your bike across your top tube, and you're gonna have two cradles at the bottom. That's gonna allow you to get your bikes on the road with you. However, if you have a carbon fiber frame bike or a bike that has a nice paint job or even a unconventional bike with, you know, a step through frame, this may not be the best option. You may wanna lean more towards a wheel mounted option. more

So the Swagman Dispatch is a nice bike carrier if you're not overly concerned with a frame mounted bike carrier style, that's going to actually come into contact with your top tube. So if you have a carbon fiber bike or a bike with a nice paint job or even a unconventional frame style, like a step through, it may not be the best option. If that's not a concern for you, it'll work pretty well on the back of your vehicle. On the rear of the Equinox, once you have your bikes loaded up, you will not be able to tilt this carrier. So that is something that's kind of a shortcoming of the dispatch. more

So, looking at this bike carrier and what you may notice is how it's secured to it. This is a wheel-mounted bike carrier and that works really well for people who have carbon fiber bikes, unconventional frame bikes like a step through or just a bike you don't want any contact to the top tube. This is gonna allow you to get two bikes on the road that are up to 45 pounds each. The way that it affects the back of your vehicle is kind of handy 'cause it allows you to still access your cargo area. You can use this green latch and you can lower the bike carrier to the ground. more

So as you can see, the way that your bike's secured to the Transfer is using a hook. This is a wheel-mounted bike carrier. So if you have a bike like a carbon fiber bike or a step through frame, something where you necessarily didn't want contact to the top tube, you're gonna be able to secure your bike without having any issues. Only thing that I have encountered, sometimes if you have fenders that stick out a bit, this isn't necessarily gonna be the best option for you. But on the case of this mountain bike right here, you can see that it works well. more

Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack Review - 2021 Nissan Murano- Video
How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Thule T2 XTR Bike Carrier on our 2021 Nissan Murano. The T2 XTR is a wheel-mounted bike carrier, so what that's gonna do for you, it's gonna secure your bike to the back of your vehicle by making contact with your front and rear wheel. It doesn't have any contact with your top tube. So if you have a unconventional frame or a carbon fiber frame bike, this is gonna be a great option to secure your bike without making any contact. On the back of our vehicle, it doesn't take up very much space and it gives you a lot of flexibility. Using the handle here, (mechanism clicking) we're able to tilt our carrier and access our cargo area pretty easily. more

The XTC2 TILT is a bike carrier that's frame mounted, so it's going to make contact with the top tube of your bike. If you have a carbon fiber bike or unconventional frame, it may not be the best option for you. A wheel mounted carrier may be better, but if you're not overly concerned with that contact to your frame, this is gonna be one of the better ways to transport your bike, as far as being cost effective. How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Thule Epos Bike Carrier on our 2022 Chevrolet Equinox. So our bike carrier here is actually kind of unique versus a lot of other types, whereas it is a frame mount and it can also be a wheel-mounted carrier, so that's gonna allow you to get two different types of bikes out on the road. So if you have a carbon fiber bike, a step-through bike, something like that, you can actually adjust your arm to attach to your rear wheel, or if you have a bike where you don't mind that contact on the top tube, then it works out fine, kinda like our e-bike here. Our capacity is sitting here right at 75 pounds for a single bike or 70 pounds for two bikes. So that gives you a lot of flexibility as far as how much you can carry along with you, and let's take a look at how it works with the Equinox. We're gonna push down on our pedal here and activate our tilt feature. more

So let's check it out. So this is gonna have a weight capacity up to 40 pounds per bike, but the whole carrier's weight capacity is gonna be 150 pounds. So if you wanna load this up, up to 150 pounds, then each bike's gonna have to weigh a little bit less than 40 pounds. Definitely keep that in mind. more

How's it going, neighbors This is Ed with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Swagman E-SPEC Bike Carrier on our 2024 Hyundai Tucson. The E-SPEC is a frame-mounted bike carrier, so your padded hook is gonna make contact with your top tube. If you have a carbon fiber bike or a bike with a nice paint job where you didn't want to have contact, or even a unconventional bike like a step through, this may not be the best option for you right out the gate. You're also secured using cradles on the front and rear that strap into place to stabilize your bike to the back of the vehicle. The E-SPEC has locking handles as far as your hooks that mount to your bike, so that's another cool thing that's gonna keep everything nice and secure. Let's take our bike off of the carrier and we can take a closer look at some of the features. more

How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the XTC2 TILT from Swagman on our 2024 Hyundai Tucson. Our carrier is a frame-mounted bike carrier, so it's actually contacts right here on the top tube and on your front and rear wheel. So if you have a bike that's a little bit nicer or unconventional frame, you may have issues as far as using this carrier and getting the most out of securing your bike. An observation I made while taking a look at the XTC2 is the fact that it is kind of a small carrier. This is actually a small frame bike here. We tried to load a XL frame mountain bike and it just simply too large to fit on the inside and the small is still gonna make contact with the back of your tailgate and your handlebars can come close to your window. more

How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're gonna take a look at the Swagman Dispatch bike carrier on the back of our 2023 Nissan Rogue. The Dispatch is a frame-mounted bike carrier, meaning that you're gonna have a padded hook across your top tube and two cradle straps to secure your bike to the carrier. If you have a carbon fiber frame, a step-through bike or just a nice paint job where you didn't want any contact, this may not be the best option for you, but if that's not a hurdle, then this'll work out great. On the back of the Rogue, it does not have a tilt feature, but your trade off for not having a tilt is the ability to use it in a flat tow situation or if you also own a RV. So that's kind of a good feature. However, it does limit you from accessing the cargo area if you have the bike on. more

Hey, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, we have the Swagman Okanagan Three-Bike Platform Rack. We're gonna take a look at how it fits here on our 2023 Kia Seltos. Now the Okanagan is in the three-bike configuration, which is two-bike platform rack, plus the add-on. I like the clearance it gives, we have plenty of space to open up our hatch on our Seltos. The downside is there's gonna be a lot more movement here on this rack. So, if possible, please put your lighter bike on the very end, because that will help reduce that movement up and down. more

So this is gonna have a weight capacity of 45 pounds per bike, holding up the two bikes, and we won't be able to carry our really heavy E-bikes, but most bikes should fit on here. And that's really gonna also affect our tilt too. So since it does have a lighter tilt, it's not gonna tilt away as far. You have two options. more

Now this will be a great premium option for you if you plan on hauling a lot of different types of bikes, so let's check it out. So this is gonna have a weight capacity up to 60 pounds per bike, holding up the two of them, so you'll even be able to accommodate your really heavy e-bikes too, but that's really not gonna affect our tilt too much. As you can see right here, when I tilt it back, most of 'em will be able to go pretty far back. So that's gonna give me the ability to open up my hit, or my hatch once I find that button and a reason why you might want to open up your hatch when you have a bike back here is whether or not you wanna get ready for your ride, grab your gear, or if you're out and about and you need to put your groceries up, or you just simply need a spot to get ready and tie your shoes and when you close this up, I can show you how to put this back into the seated position. It's pretty straightforward. more

The StageTwo is a wheel mounted bike carrier, meaning that it's going to secure your bike to the carrier using a front hook and a rear cradle strap to lock it down, so you're not making any contact to your cross tube at the top. And so if you have a carbon fiber bike like this one or a unconventional frame bike, it's gonna be able to be flexible to work with both. Another thing to take notice of is the fact that the StageTwo does have a tilt feature. It's gonna allow you to pull your lever and access your cargo area. The tilt on here gives you plenty of space to open your rear hatch and actually use your space to change your shoes or get it ready for your ride. more

We're gonna take a look at how it fits here on our 2023 Jeep Gladiator. The E-Spec is gonna be very popular because of its heavy duty weight capacity. It has an 80 pound weight capacity on your Gladiator, 70 pounds if you put this on a motor home, which is gonna be a lot. Now, there are some things to keep in mind though with this type of a rack is that you do lose out on some features that you may get on lighter or more premium, meaning more pricey, bike racks. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Jeep Gladiator- Video
How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 on the back of our 2023 Jeep Gladiator. The Sherpa 2.0 is a wheel-mounted bike carrier, and what that means for you it allows you to transfer your bike securely without making any contact to the frame of your bike at all. So if you have a carbon fiber bike or if you have an unconventional bike, like a step-through, this is gonna be a great way to secure it without making any contact to the frame. You're gonna have a large hook on your front wheel, and with the Sherpa you want it as close to the forks as possible, and you have a single strap on your rear wheel, and that's gonna hold your bike in place as you go down the road. A cool feature of the Sherpa 2.0 is the fact that you can pull this lever and actually tilt your bike carrier while it's loaded with bikes. You can see right here that you have full clearance to open up your tailgate without having to remove the bike from here and having any interference. more

Today, we have a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you some of the cool details on the Kuat NV 2.0, more specifically when paired with the Kuat Pivot 2. Our Kuat NV 2.0 is gonna be this gloss black section here. This is our bike rack, and then our Pivot 2 is going to be the Swing Away Base. And the reason why I'm doing this fit with the Kuat on the Pivot is because that's the only way that you're gonna get to use all the functions on your Kuat bike rack, is if you use it with the Pivot base. Just to show you real quick, one of the best benefits of using the Pivot Swing Away Base with a bike rack, whether it's the Kuat or another one, is you can pull that lever and you can swing your entire bike assembly away. more

Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack Review - 2024 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're gonna take a look at the Kat NV 2.0 on our 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. Now this is gonna be more specific for your 1500 Sierra. If you want a little bit more in depth on the rack itself, we do have a full review, but this is just gonna be how it interacts with the back of the truck and some key features. The NV 2.0 is a wheel-mounted bike carrier, so that means it's not gonna make any contact with the frame, just at the front and rear wheel. The capacity for this is super solid. So it's gonna work for your super light road bikes that have carbon fiber frames with the no contact, as well as going all the way up to your 60-pound E-bikes. more
