We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch, lining up the pin hole and installing our pin and clip. Now, we'll go over a few clearance measurements. We have about 17 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the carrier to the rear of our Xterra is about five and a half inches. We've added about 31 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. The exhaust system on this vehicle exits on our passenger side and sits about 11 inches away from our loading platform.
