To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch. We'll line up the pin holes and install our pin and clip. Now we'll go over some clearance measurements. We have about 21 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the carrier to the rear of our Explorer is about 10 1/2 inches. We've added about 42 3/4 inches to the overall length of our Ford Explorer. more
