Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Thule T2 Pro XTR platform style bike rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. Now this is going to be a four-bike rack capable of carrying up to four bikes. It's gonna be a pretty easy system to use because it makes no frame contact, holds the bike by the front tire and the back wheel. The back wheel is held in by a wheel strap and that front tire uses a wheel hook. The hook is the thing that primarily keeps this upright and in place and the back strap provides stability. more

Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the RockyMounts GuideRail three bike rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. That's going to be a really nice platform-style rack. What that means is the bike is held in these trays, and in this one, it's held by the tires. This is a dual wheel mount design, so you can see the wheel hoop on either side holding it down in place with the ratcheting arms that keep it down nice and tight. more

RockyMounts RV and Camper Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the RockyMounts AfterParty Swing Away bike rack on the back of our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. Now this is gonna be, like I said, a swinging bike rack. What that means is we've got it loaded up like a normal bike rack but we've got this swing base arm at the bottom so it does have the ability to tilt away from the vehicle. I'll show you with the handle underneath you can pull it, tilt the whole rack down and use that to get quick and easy hatch access. Even on the 4Runner here with the very large hatch, it still does clear with plenty of room because of how aggressively it tilts. more

Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Swagman Current platform style bike rack on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. Now, this is gonna hold the bike in these wheel cradles and primarily by our frame. We've got a frame hook up top holding the bike in those cradles, and then there's two wheel straps at the bottom as secondary points of contact to keep everything nice and secure. Overall, it does a pretty good job of getting the bike nice and still. And with this it's designed to be used with e-bikes. more

Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're looking at the Yakima FullTilt on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. The FullTilt is a hanging style bike rack that holds the bike up here by the frame. It's hanging here with two zip strips over the top holding it down into the cradles, with a third zip strip over the seat post, limiting our side to side movement and helping with bike to bike contact. Because it makes frame contact we do wanna avoid carbon frame bikes, because that can damage the frame. With that in mind we also want to be cautious of alternative frame bikes and kids bikes. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner, we're gonna be checking out the Thule T1 platform style bike rack. First impression of the rack on the back of the 4Runner. I think it looks good, you know, but then again honestly just about any type of accessory you put on these vehicles, you know, they just look right at home. One thing I do like about this setup on the 4Runner is where the bike's gonna sit. So, you know, it's a little bit below my waist and I'm probably average height and it just makes it easy to get to and work with to get the bike up and lock it down and everything. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2, on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. This rack's gonna be for you if you don't have carbon fiber frame bikes. It is gonna have frame contact, and what does that is the frame hooks here in the middle. But, you don't really have to worry about it scratching up your normal type bikes, 'cause we do have one, a coated little hook right here, we're we also have an added protection right here. It's very soft, so it's not gonna scratch up your bikes. If you do have a step-through bike, all you need to do is use an adapter bar like this, to put in between your seat and your handlebars for that frame hook to lock down. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner HR1450Z-85- Video
Today we have a 2015 Toyota 4Runner and we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE with the cargo carrier. The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE is gonna be great for you if you have a mountain bike, a road bike and electric bikes, if they're under 50 pounds. Also we're gonna have a decent amount of space up top to load up a lot of our cargo up to a hundred pounds. The Sport Rider SE can either come with these cradles right here, which has a maximum of three inches in tire width, or you can grab it that already has the fat tire cradles on there. These are gonna accept five inch tire widths or you can just grab these individually to swap over one or two, depending on what kind of bikes you have. That's the main gist with this bike rack but we do wanna take it on the test course to show you how it's going to look and feel, whenever we're going on bumps and stuff like that. more

Now this is a great bike system if you need to get a ton of very heavy bikes onto the road into wherever you're going. What they did is, they made it a little beefier, so it can hold a little bit heavier bikes. So, it's gonna have a weight capacity of 45 pounds, per bike now. And then it's also gonna have a maximum wheelbase of 52". The other thing to think about here is it's gonna work with wheel sizes from 26", all the way up to 29". more

Yakima HoldUp Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Hey everybody Zach here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Yakima Holdup, on our 2015 Toyota 4runner. It's going to be a Platform Style Rack, that's going to be a Wheel Mount Style. So this is going to work out great, with a lot of different bikes, whether you're doing a road bike or a mountain bike that's carbon maybe. Since we're getting that Wheel Mount design, we're not going to have to worry about any frame contact, which is great. Now when it comes to, carrying a lot of different types of bikes, it's going to work with tire sizes of 20 inches up to 29 inches and we're going to get, a 3 inch max width on that tire width, unless you're riding at 29er, if you're riding a 29er, we're only going to be able to go to 2.5 on that tire width, so that's something to keep in mind. more

Now I call this the elevator bike rack, because it's an electric lift bike rack, so it raises and it lowers; when you wanna mount your bikes, you just lower it down. And when you're ready to go, raise it right back up, and then you're ready to drive. So it's a very unique bike rack, definitely ideal for if you have your heavy electric bikes and you're not able to lift it up onto your vehicle. Hi, everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at our Yakima OnRamp two electric bike platform rack, right here on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. So some reasons Yakima OnRamp is really, really interesting and pretty cool is because it has a ramp already attached to your bike rack. So when you're loading and unloading your bike, it's very easy to do so with the ramp. And another thing is that it's an electric bike rack. So with a weight capacity of 66 pounds per bike, 40, if you're taking this 4Runner off the road, though, this makes it easier for your electric bikes to both carry them and to load and unload. more

So the Swagman Chinook really shines when you have an inch and a quarter hitch, but you need something that's extra heavy duty to carry your bikes. Now, in our case, on the 4Runner, we have a 2-inch hitch. So that feature is not as important, but it's still a great heavy duty bike rack that also allows you to tilt it away. Something that's better than the Swagman E-Spec, which has more weight capacity, but not that tilt. So let's take a look at that tilting feature. more

So good reason to go with the bike rack like this is if you want to stick with an affordable platform rack to carry one or two bikes, if you and a friend would just like to go to the bike trail. This is a nice light rack and the capacity is 35 pounds per bike. So keeping that 35 per bike weight limit in mind, it is good to consider that this is good for standard bikes. Now this would not be good for your electric bikes or bikes that have kind of a heavier weight or a fat tire. more

So the Malone Runway is a very unique bike rack in that it's designed to sit lower than your usual hanging rack. So on most vehicles, it's not that good of a fit because it actually sits a little bit lower than your hitch, but on our Toyota 4Runner, this is actually a pretty good pairing because as you can see, it sits low enough where it's easy to load and unload your bikes. So the Kuat Sherpa is a great kind of middle of the road bike rack, where it's not as pricey as a Kuat NV, but it still has all the premium unique features you would expect from any Kuat bike rack. So we're gonna take a look at this bike rack to see if it's the right fit for you, your adventure, and your 4Runner. So the first of the premium features that you will see in the Kuat Sherpa is that it can tilt away if you need access to your hatch. So right over here, we have this lever, you're gonna can pull that lever and just let that drop down.
