Dustin: How's it going Outback owners Dustin here at etrailer.com. Today, we have our 2011 Subaru Outback, and we're going to be showing you the Swagman XC two bike platform-style rack. The XC is an entry-level two bike rack. It holds your bike in place in three locations. We've got our ratcheting frame hook that puts down pressure on our top tube, and that secures our wheels into the hoops. And the hoops are adjustable along the arm. more

Saris Porter 4 Bike Rack Review - 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon

Today on our 2011 Subaru Outback wagon we're going to be test fitting the Saris Bike Porter. This is a tilting-style 4-bike rack designed for use in 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number SA404B. Now to begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the bike rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we slide it in we want to be sure that the pinhole in our rack lines up with the pinhole in our hitch. With those in line we're going to take our anti-rattle bolt, slide it in from the left to the right, and tighten it down. We'll use a wrench for the final torque process. more

Today on our 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon we'll be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4-bike rack for 1 1/4 and 2 inch hitches, part number TH9029. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch. We'll line up our pin holes and thread in our anti-rattle bolt tightening it with a wrench. Now we'll go over a few clearance measurements. We have about 12 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the bike rack to the rear of our Subaru is about 3 1/2 inches. We've added about 13 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. more

Today on our 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon, we'll be test fitting the Thule Apex 4 Bike Rack for inch and a 1/4 and 2 inch hitches, Part Number TH9025. We'll being our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch allowing the attached hitch pin to fall into place and then using the hand knob to secure the bike rack to our vehicle and engage our anti-rattle device. Now we'll go over some clearance measurements. We have a ground clearance of about 12 inches. The closest point of the bike rack to the rear of our vehicle is about 2 inches. We've added about 12-1/2 inches to the overall length of our Subaru Outback Wagon. Now we'll pull the lever at the base of the bike rack, and allow it to tilt away from our vehicle. more

Today on our 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon well be test fitting the Thule hitching post pro, part number TH934XTR. Since we have an inch and a quarter class two hitch on our vehicle we wont need the adapter sleeve on the shank of our carrier. Now to mount it well insert the shank into the receiver tube of our hitch. Well line up the pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, and tighten it down with a wrench. Next well go over a handful of clearance measurements to give you an idea of how the bike rack is going to fit behind the vehicle. Weve got about 11 inches of ground clearance. more

Today on our 2008 Subaru Outback Wagon, well be test fitting the Kuat Alpha three-Bike Carrier, part number a103-white-114. To mount our carrier to our vehicle, well insert the shank of the carrier into the hitch. Well line up our hitch pinholes, then we use the handle at the base of the carrier to tighten the anti-rattle device then well secure the carrier with a locking hitch pin. Next, well go over a handful of clearance measurements so you can get an idea of how the carrier is going to fit behind the Outback. Weve got about 12 inches of ground clearance and about five inches of clearance between the closest of the carrier and out Outbacks bumper. Overall, weve added about 13 inches of length to the rear of the vehicle with the carriers arms folded down. more
