Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Nissan Murano- Video

Today in our 2013 Nissan Murano, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman XC 2 bike rack, part number S64650. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike attaches to the rack, we're going to have one point of contact and that's going to be a frame hook up here. It is padded, so your bike will not get scratched up once it's installed. We also have these adjustable wheel cradles here you turn to the left to loosen them up, and then move along the arms freely to accommodate different size bikes and to assist with loading. We also have this nice raised shank here, so when you do have hitches that sit a little bit lower to the ground you're not going to have clearance issues between the bike rack itself and the ground. more

Yakima HoldUp Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Nissan Murano- Video

Today on our 2013 Nissan Murano we're going to be test fitting the Yakima HoldUp 2 Bike Rack, part number Y02443. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now the most prominent feature of this bike rack is the fact that you can tilt it away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. To do that holding on to the bike rack you come to this red knob at the front, pull out, then come down. With that we have access to our rear hatch to get whatever we need with plenty of space on either side to do so. To put it back in it's original position simply lift up, you hear that click and it's locked back into place. Now some other features of this bike rack it does have an integrated cable lock here at the top of the wheel hook, just pull it up and around the bike and attach it to this point on the other side, lock it into place and your bike is secure on the rack. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Nissan Murano- Video

Today on our 2013 Nissan Murano, we're going to be test fitting the Kuat NV 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack for 2-inch hitches, part number NV22G. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now, the most prominent feature about this bike rack is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. To do that, you have this release lever at the front, and while holding onto the bike rack, you just pull it towards you and let the bike rack come down. With that, we have full access to our rear hatch to get whatever we need with plenty of space on either side to do so. Now, to put it back in its original position, we'll just lift up. more

Thule Doubletrack Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Nissan Murano- Video

Today on our 2013 Nissan Murano we'll be test fitting the Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style Two Bike Carrier, part number th990xt. Now to begin our test fit we'll simply slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch. Line up our pin holes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes and tighten with a wrench.Now that our Thule Doubletrack is secured to our Nissan Murano we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how they fit together. We have about 11 inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle here at the rear bumper is about 5-1/2 inches.With the platform folded up we've added about 12 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. We'll now pull the gray lever at the base of the carrier to tilt the platform down. more

We have a ground clearance of about 14 inches. With the bike rack in the folded position we've added about 19 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. Now we'll go ahead and pull the lever at the base of the carrier and allow our bike carrier to tilt.This gives us easy access to our rear hatch in our cargo area. more

Thule Helium Aero Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Nissan Murano- Video

Today on our 2013 Nissan Murano well be test fitting the Thule Helium Aero 2-Bike Carrier, part number th9042. Now to begin our test fit, well simply slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes, allow the integrated pin to fall into place and well then turn the black knob to engage the anti-rattle device. Now that our Thule Helium is secured to our Nissan Murano, well go over a few clearance measurements to see how they fit together. We have about 18 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle here at the rear bumper is about 9 inches, and with the cradle arms folded down weve added about 19 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. Well now pull the gray lever at the top of the mast to swing the cradle arms out, and with the cradle arms out weve added about 30 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. more

Today, on our 2013 Nissan Murano, well be test fitting the Rhino Rack 4-Bike Carrier, Part Number RBC038.To begin our test fit, well slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch, well line up our pinhole and thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tightening it with a wrench and then securing the lock into place.Now, well go ahead and go over a few clearance measurements. We have a ground clearance of about 13-1/2 inches. From the closest point of the carrier to the rear of our vehicle is about 4-1/2 inches. With the bike carrier in its folded position, weve added about 11-1/2 inches to the overall length of our vehicle.Now, well go ahead and pull the pin at the base of the carrier to allow our carrier to tilt. This allows us to gain easy access to the rear hatch of our vehicle, so that we can access our cargo area when we need to.Now, well put the carrier back in its upright position, replace the pin and then well move to the top of the mast, where well pull the pin to swing out our dual arms. With these extended, weve added about 29 inches to the overall length of our vehicle.Now, well go ahead and undo the cradle straps, well grab our bike, place it into the cradles and use the straps to secure it. more

The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle here at the rear bumper is about 5", and we've added about 29" inches to the overall length of the vehicle. To access the cargo area, we'll simply pull the three black pins at the base of the carrier to fold down the platform as well as the mast. more
