Today on our 2012 KIA Sorento, we'll be test fitting the Yakima StickUp Platform Style 2-Bike Carrier, part number Y02420. To begin our test fit, we'll simply slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes, throw on our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes, and tighten with a wrench. Now with our Yakima StickUp secured to our KIA Sorento, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. With the platform folded up, we have about 12 inches of ground clearance to the rear of the carrier. Closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle here at the rear bumper is about 2 inches. We've added about 8-1/2 inches to the overall length of our Sorento. more

Thule Helium Aero Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Kia Sorento

Today on our 2012 KIA sorento, we'll be test fitting the Thule Helium Aero Hitch-Mounted 2-Bike Carrier, part number TH9042. To begin our test fit, we'll simply slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, allowing the spring loaded integrated hitch pin to fall into place, and we'll then turn the black knob to engage the anti-rattle device, securing our Thule Helium Aero to our KIA Sorento. We'll now go over a few clearance measurements to see how they fit together. We have about 15 inches of ground clearance to the rear of the carrier. Closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle here at the rear bumper is about 6 inches. We've added about 16-1/2 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. more

Today on our 2012 KIA Sorento, we'll be test fitting the SportRack Super EZ Platform Style 2-Bike Carrier, part number SR2901LR. To begin out test fit, we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes, throw on our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes, and secure the lock on the other side. We can then tighten with a wrench to secure the bike rack to the vehicle. Now that our SportRack Super EZ is secured to our KIA Sorento, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 13-1/2 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. Closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle here at the rear bumper is about 8 inches. more

Now with our Softride Dura Parallelogram secured to our KIA Sorento, we're ready to go over some clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 11 inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle here at the rear bumper is about 2 inches. Edge of the top of the mast to the rear cargo door is about 2 inches, as well. more

Well now go over a couple of clearance measurements to see how the Hollywood Racks Traveler and our Kia Sorento fit together. We have about 11 inches of ground clearance. Today on our 2012 Kia Sorento, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler five bike carrier, part number HR 9200. Now to begin our test fit we'll simply slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes, and tighten with a wrench. Now with our Hollywood Racks Traveler secured to our Kia Sorento we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how they fit together. We have about 11 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle, while the cradle arms are down, is about 14 inches and we've added about 11 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. We'll now undo the black knobs on the upper part of the mast to swing the cradle arms out and now with the cradle arms out the closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle is about nine inches. To access the cargo area we'll pull the pin at the base of the carrier to tilt the mast out. This will allow us to easily access the vehicles cargo door. To load the bike we'll point the mast in its upright position, we'll undo the cradle straps, place our bike into the frame cradles and secure with straps. And that completes today's test fit for the Hollywood Racks Traveler five bike carrier, part number HR 9200, on our 2012 Kia Sorento. more

Kuat NV Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Kia Sorento

Today on our 2012 Kia Sorento we'll be test fitting the Kuat NV platform style aluminum two bike carrier part number N101. Now to begin our test fit we'll simply slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes, insert our pin through our pin holes, and secure the lock on the other side. We lastly can turn the knob at the back of the shank to engage the anti-rattle device. Now that our Kuat NV is secured to our Kia Sorento, we're ready to go over a few clearance measurements to see how they fit together. We have about 11 inches of ground clearance with the platform folded up. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle here at the rear bumper is about 2 1/2 inches and we've added about 13 inches to overall length of the vehicle. We now can pull the gold handle at the base of the carrier to fold the platform down and with the platform folded down we have about 20 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle at the rear bumper is 6 inches and with the platform folded down we've added about 32 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. With the platform folded down, without a bike on it, you can see we can easily have access to our cargo area of our vehicle. To load the bike we'll first unfold the wheel hook and raise the wheel hook to the top of the mast. more

Kuat Sherpa Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Kia Sorento

Today on our 2012 Kia Sorento we'll be test fitting part number S102, the Kuat Sherpa Aluminum Hitch Mounted Two Bike Carrier with wheel mount cradles. With the 2 inch adapter already installed on our bike rack shank we'll slide the shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin holes, and install our hitch pin. We'll then move to the back of the bike rack shank where we can tighten down the knob, securing our bike rack to the vehicle. With the bike rack secure we'll go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the back of the bike rack measures 14-1/4 inches. From the closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle with the bike rack in the stored position measures 2-1/2 inches. We can now check for rear vehicle access. more

Today on our 2012 Kia Sorento well be test fitting part number TH9025, the Thule Apex four bike carrier. To begin our test fit well slide the bike rack shank into the hitch and allow the integrated locking hitch pin to fall into place. We can then move to the anti-rattle knob where well tighten it down, securing our bike rack tot eh vehicle. Well now go ahead and give you a few clearance measurements. Our ground clearance at the back of the bike rack measures 11 inches, and from the closest part of the bike rack at the anti-rattle knob to the closest part of the vehicle measure one and three quarter inches. Well now check for rear vehicle access. more

Rhode Gear Highway Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Kia Sorento

Today we have a 2012 Kia Sorento and were going to test fit the Rhode Gear Highway 2 Bike Carrier for 11/4 inch and 2 inch hitches, part number RG8015220. First were going to insert the rack into our receiver and line up the bolt holes. We have a 2 inch hitch on our Kia Sorento so we will be keeping the 2 inch adaptor thats installed on our Rhode Gear rack. Next well take the threaded hitch pin and feed it through our pin hole on our receiver and thread it into the bike rack. Then we will tighten it down using either the included range or a 31/4 inch range. We will secure the pin on the other side with our clamp. more
