Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Jeep Cherokee- Video
Hey everybody, welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the Yakima Back Road 4 Bike Rack Carrier, here on our 2017 Jeep Cherokee. Now if you're looking a way of getting a multitude of bikes to the trailhead, hanging styles are definitely gonna be a great option for yourself. Things to keep in mind though, we are gonna start seeing a lot more sway on our bikes because we're only having these dual arm support system which is gonna do a really good job of making sure our bike isn't tilting side to side but because of our frame mounts and our frame is circular you are gonna get just a little bit of sway as we are go down the road. Now the BackRoad does have a lot of techniques to combat that sway. The biggest one being for me is we are getting seven inch spreads on each of our channel mounts here. more

Now if you're looking a way of getting a host of bikes through the trails with you, this can be a great option. Right outta the gate, this is gonna be a platform style rack and you are getting four bikes on there. Couple of immediate advantages, if you're looking at some differences, hanging style is gonna be a great way to start accessing four bikes. However, you are gonna start running into a lot of issues with those bikes running into each other as they are gonna be kinda swaying back and forth on those coasts. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Jeep Cherokee- Video
What's going on, everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Thule T2 Pro on our 2017 Jeep Cherokee. So, if you're looking for a really solid platform-style rack to get two bikes to and fro, this is gonna be a good one. It looks good and it's nice and solid, but we will be able to add on to this, and make it a four-bike rack. Currently, it's about 60 pounds per bike, but if we do have that add-on, it's gonna be about 40 pounds per bike. But as it is right now, we can use our fat tire bikes and e-bikes, because of the weight capacity. more

This is gonna be a great rack for getting the whole family's bikes on. What you need is a class three hitch or higher. And this is gonna be able to go on your vehicle, but also a motor home as well which is always a plus. Today on our 2017 Jeep Cherokee we'll be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Rack Sport Rider SE four by platform rack. Part number HR1400Z. I wanna start by showing you one of it's best functions. You first push on this pin here, then you pull the pin out and then pull the secondary pin and you can tilt it down. Now you can do this with all four bikes on the rack. This allows you to open your rear hatch and get anything that you might need to get out. more

Speaker 1: Today in our 2017 Jeep Cherokee, we'll be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider two bike platform rack, part number HR2000Z. Now with the bike installed, let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. To start, our wheel trays can adjust, just by loosening and tightening this knob. We can loosen it up, adjust it to whatever our bikes length might be, and then tighten it back down, like so. It's going to be able to accommodate many different lengths of bikes.We have three different points where our bike is secured. We have a hook and loop strap on the back wheel right here, and we also have the same thing on this front wheel, both two points. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Trailrider two-bike platform rack for fat tire bikes, part number HR200Z-FB. This bike rack is able to hold your fat tire bikes up to five inches wide. And you're also going to get the standard size wheel trays, which will hold bike tires up to three inches wide. You just have to remove and replace them due to whatever bikes you want to have that day. As for the bike itself, we have three different points where it's secured. We have a hook and loop strap on the front tire and we also have another one on the back tire back here. more

First I'd like to start talking about the Yakima RidgeBack ZipStrips that you use to secure the bike to the bike rack. You just simply press on these two tabs, pull the ZipStrip, and it's that easy. Now down here we have the ZipStrip that is attached to our anti-sway cradle which allows our bike to be a lot sturdier when in travel. We'll remove our bike. I like to replace the ZipStrips so they don't get lost or damaged. more

The first feature I'd like to show you on this bike rack is its tilt feature. You'll start by pulling this pin on the bottom, lift up on the front, pull this other latch, and let the bike rack down. Now what's nice about this is you can let your bike down what it on. In order to get into the back of your vehicle you just step behind the bike and get into your vehicle for whatever you might need. We already have our bike secured down, we're first going to show you one of the key features of this rack. We're going to come around to the backside and we're going to remove the pin and clip, or the pin rather. We'll just pull that out. Another nice thing about this rack is that whenever we pull the pin out we actually have to tilt the bike rack away, so it's going to stay in place. We won't have to worry about that falling immediately into this position once we've taken that pin out. more
