Thule Apex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2009 Ford Escape

Today we have a 2009 Ford Escape and were going to be test fitting the Thule Apex 4 Hitch Mounted Bike Carrier, part number TH9025. To mount the bike rack, well fit the shank into the receiver tube on our hitch. Well open the built-in hitch pin and snap it into place. Once weve done that, we can go ahead and tighten our hand knob which will secure the anti-rattle device inside the hitch. Next well grab the latch at the bottom of the upright mast, release it so that we can lay the bike rack down and check for rear vehicle access. With the bike rack tilted down, we can easily access the cargo area of our Escape. more

SportRack EZ Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2009 Ford Escape

Today we have a 2009 Ford Escape, and well be test fitting the Sport Rack Two Bike Hitch Mounted Bike Carrier, part number A30901. To mount the bike rack, well insert the shank with our 2 adapter sleeve into the receiver tube on our hitch. Well line up the hitch pinholes and well thread in our anti-rattle bolt and follow that by tightening it down with a wrench. With the bike rack secure, well fold down the platform legs and the upright mast to check for rear vehicle access. With the bike rack laid down flat, we can easily get to the cargo carrier of our Escape. Well put the mast back up into position and now were ready to load our bike. more

Today we have a 2009 Ford Escape and well be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4 Bike Carrier, part number TH9029. To mount the bike carrier on our hitch, well fit the shank in the reciever tube and well line up the hitch pinholes. Then well take our anti-rattle bolt, thread it through our hitch into the shank of our bike rack and tighten it down. With the bike rack secured in the vehicle, well grab the latch at the bottom of the upright mast, tilt the bike rack down so that we can check for rear vehicle access. With the bike rack down, we can easily access the cargo area of our Escape. Well pull it back up and well grab the latch at the top of the upright mast to open up the bike arms. more
