Thule Vertex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Dodge Avenger

Today on our 2013 Dodge Avenger, we'll be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4 hitch-mounted bike carrier, part number TH9029. To install the bike rack to this vehicle, first we need to remove the 2" adaptor and then slide our bike rack into the hitch, and line up the hitch pin hole. We'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt, and tighten it down using the wrench. We'll go ahead and go over a few measurements. With this bike rack, we have a ground clearance of 9-1/2", and the closest point of the bike rack to the closest point of the bumper is about 1". With the bike rack in the folded position, we've added about 9" to the overall length of our vehicle. more

Today on our 2013 Dodge Avenger, we'll be test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro Part Number TH934XTR. To begin our test fit, we'll slide our bike rack shank into the hitch after removing the 2 inch adapter from our shank. We can then line up the hitch pinhole and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. With our bolt tight, our bike rack is secure to our vehicle. Now we can go ahead and go over a few clearance measurements. Our ground clearance of the bike rack is 9 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the closest point of the vehicle is about 3 1/2 inches. more

Today on our 2013 Dodge Avenger, we'll be test fitting the Swagman Titan 4-Bike Carrier, for both 1-1/4 and 2-inch Hitches, Part Number S63410. This carrier will fit both 1-1/4 and 2-inches hitches using the included adapter. However, when using that with a Class 1 hitch, you're limited to only two bikes. We went ahead and remove the two-inch adapter, so we're ready to fit the bike carrier to our vehicle. We'll install the bike rack shank into the hitch, lineup the hitch pinhole and install our anti-rattle bolt. With our bolt tight, we can go ahead and make sure that the bike rack is secured to our vehicle. Now, we'll go over a few measurements. Our bike rack has a ground clearance of 10 inches. more

Today on our 2013 Dodge Avenger, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler 4 Bike Carrier, Part Number HR8500. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank up the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pinholes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pinholes and tighten with the wrench. Now, let's go over some clearance measurements to see how the bike carrier and this vehicle will fit together. There's about 9-1/2 inches of ground clearance, closest part of the vehicle to the closest part of the carrier is about 3 inches. With the cradle arms folded down, we've added about seven inches to the overall length of the vehicle. With this bike carrier, you can access the cargo area with or without the bike loaded. more

Today on our 2013 Dodge Avenger will be test fitting the SportRack 2 Bike Carrier, Part Number A30901. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch. Line up to thread on the pinholes through an anti-rattle bolt through the pinholes and tighten it with a wrench. Now, let's go over some clearance measurements to see how the bike carrier and this vehicle fit together. There's about ten inches of ground clearance, closest part of the vehicle to the closest part of the carrier is about seven inches. We've added about 23 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. more
