Today, on our 2014 Chevy Sonic, we'll be test fitting the Yakima Stickup Platform Style 2-Bike rack, part Y02420. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes and tighten it down with a wrench. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements and see how the two fit together. With the platform in the up position, we have about 14 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 2 inches away, and we've added about 11-1/2 inches to the overall length of our Sonic. We'll now pull out on the red knob at the base of the bike rack and tilt the platform down. With the bike rack in this position, we have about 16 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 4-1/2 inches away, and we've added about 33 inches to the overall length of our Sonic, and also with the platform down, you can see that we can easily access the trunk. Now, we're ready to load our bike. more

Today on our 2014 Chevy Sonic, we'll be test fitting the Thule Vertex hitch mounted four bike rack, part number TH9029. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes, and tighten it down using a wrench. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about twelve inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about three inches away, and we've added about twelve inches to the overall length of our Sonic. We can now lift up on the gray lever at the top of the mast and swing the cradle arms out. With the cradle arms out, we've added about thirty-five inches to the overall length of our Sonic. more

The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about seven inches away and weve added about sixteen inches to the overall length of our Sonic.We can now remove the gold pin at the top of the mast and swing the cradle arms out. more

We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack in to the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolts and tighten it down using a wrench. The bike rack secured we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about thirteen inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about six inches and we've added about twenty five inches to the overall length of our Sonic. We'll now go ahead and pull the three pins at the base of the bike rack to pull down the wheel cradles as well as the mast. more

Today on our 2014 Chevy Sonic, we'll be testing fitting the Prorack Hitch-Mounted 4-Bike rack, part number PR8062404. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll thread our anti-rattle bolt into the pin holes and tighten it down with a wrench. We'll then secure it with a clip on the other side. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 10 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 5 inches away, and we've added about 30 inches to the overall length of our Sonic. With the bike rack in this position, you can see that we do have access to the vehicle's trunk. To be able to load larger cargo into our trunk, we can remove the pin at the base of the bike rack and tilt the mast down. more

Today on our 2014 Chevy Sonic we'll be test fitting the Thule Apex 4 Bike Rack part number TH9025. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack in to the opening of the hitch. After allowing the integrated hitch pin to fall into place we'll then turn the black knob to engage the anti-rattle device. With the bike rack secured we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about twelve inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about one and a half inches away and we've added about twelve inches to the overall length of our Sonic. We can now lift up on the grade lever at the top of the mast and swing the cradle arms out. more
