Today on our 2014 Acura MDX, we're doing a test fit of the Saris Freedom SuperClamp Platform-Style 2-Bike Rack, part number SA4025. Now, as you can see, we already have our bike on our rack, but first, I'm going to show you how it is strapped down. We got two wheel hooks. One in the back and one in the front. Those just ratchet down using just a little bit of force and it'll slowly move down. Also in the back here, we've got a strap holding in that tire. more

Today on our 2014 Acura MDX we are doing a test fit of the Curt Premium hanging style 4 bike rack, part number C18064. Now we do already have our bike loaded up. We are first going to show you how you strap it down. We have got two cradles holding it in and then three straps, two on the frame and then one as your anti sway strap in the back that is going to keep a lot of the shake and play out of the bike as you're heading down the road. To release those, we will just pull down and lift up on the straps. Saving that anti sway strap for last. more

Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow n Go Bike Rack Review - 2014 Acura MDX

Today on our 2014 Acura MDX, well be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveller Tow n Go 3-Bike Rack, part number HR135. For todays test fit, we will be using the hidden hitch ball mount with an extra long shank, part number 80232, this ball mount is not included. Well begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the ball mount into the opening of the hitch and securing it with the standard 5/8 hitch pin and clip, which is also not included. Youll notice that there is a lot of wobble within the hitch, but this wobble can be eliminated by purchasing an anti-rattle device. To load up a bike, well remove the black pin at the top of the mast and swing out our cradle arms. With the cradle arms out, were ready to load up a bike. Well undo the cradle straps, place our bike into the frame cradles, and then secure it with the straps. more

Thule Helium Aero Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 Acura MDX

Today on our 2014 Acura MBX we'll be test fitting the Thule Helium Aero, Hitch-Mounted 2-bike rack, Part #TH9042. We'll begin by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After allowing the integrated hitch pin to fall into place we will then turn the black knob to engage the anti-rattle device. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 18 1/2 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 4 inches away and we've added about 19 inches to the overall length of our Acura. We'll now go ahead and lift up on the gray lever at the top of the mast and swing out our dual arms. With the cradle arms out, we've added about 28 inches to the overall length of our MBX. more

Today on our 2014 Acura MDX, we will be test fitting the Yakima StickUp Hitch Mounted Platform style 2 Bike Rack, part number Y02420. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt and then tighten it down using a wrench. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the 2 fit together. We have about 14 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 5-1/2 inches away, and we have added about 14 inches to the overall length of our Acura. Now, we'll go ahead and pull the red pin at the base of the bike rack and tilt the platform down. With the bike rack in this position, we have about 17 inches of ground clearance, and we have added about 35 inches to the overall length of our MDX. With the bike rack in this position, you can see that we can easily access the rear hatch. more

Today on our 2014 Acura MDX, we'll be test fitting the Sportrack Super EZ Platform style Hitch Mounted 2 Bike Rack, part number SR2901LR. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down using the wrench. Once it's tightened down, we'll secure it with a lock on the other side. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the 2 fit together. We have about 14 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 8 inches away, and we've added about 27 inches to the overall length of our Acura. To access the cargo area, we can pull the 3 pins at the base of the bike rack to tilt down the wheel trays as well as the mast. more

Today on our 2014 Acura MDX, we'll be test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro, part number TH934XTR. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After threading our anti-rattle bolt into the pin holes, we'll tighten it down using a wrench. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 11-1/2" of ground clearance. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 7-1/2" away, and we've added about 17" to the overall length of our Acura. We'll now go ahead and remove the gold pin at the top of the mast, and swing the cradle arms out. With the cradle arms out, we've added about 38" to the overall length of our MDX. To access the cargo area, we can remove the gold pin at the base of the bike rack, and tilt the mast down. more

Today on our 2014 Acura MDX, we'll be test-fitting the Thule Apex Swing hitch-mounted bike rack. Part number: TH9027. We'll begin our test-fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After allowing the inserter of the hitch pin to fall into place, we'll turn the black knob to engage the anti-rattle device. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together: We have about 13" of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 3 and 1/2" away and we've added about 13" to the overall length of our Acura. We'll now go ahead and lift up on the gray lever at the at the top of the mast and swing the cradle arms out. With the cradle arms out, we've added about 35" to the overall length of our MDX. To load up a bike, we'll simply undo the cradle straps, place our bike into the frame cradles, and then secure it with the straps. Now, one great feature of the Apex Swing is that it has the ability to tilt out with the bike loaded. We can do this by loosening the black tee-handle at the base of the bike rack and lifting up on the black tee-handle with the gold post. This will allow us to swing the bike rack out and have access to the rear hatch. And with our bike all loaded up, that will complete today's test-fit of the Thule Apex Swing, Part number: TH9027 on our 2014 Acura MDX. . more
