Yakima HoldUp Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Acura MDX- Video

Today on our 2011 Acura MDX, we're doing a test fit of the Yakima Holdup Platform-style Two-bike Rack. That part number is Y02443. With our bike installed, I'm first going to show you one of the key features of this rack. If we grab here at the back and then pull out on our red pin, we're able to tilt that away from our vehicle, and we're going to gain full access into our back hatch area to get anything in or out that we may need. You may notice it comes a little close to our handlebars. We've got a couple inches here. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Acura MDX- Video

Today on our 2011 Acura MDX, we're doing a test fit of the Swagman XT2 platform style, 2-bike rack. That part number is S64650. Now, we already have our bike in place. We have a frame hook here holding it down into our wheel cradles. To release that, we're just going to lift up. What's great about this is that we can accommodate different bikes that we may have, of different heights. more

Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Acura MDX- Video

Today on this 2011 Acura MDX, we're going to be test-fitting the Saris Bones 2-Bike Rack, part number SA882. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How it attaches to the rack, you're going to have 3 points of contact with your bike's frame. We're going to have 2 straps up top here and one off to the side which is going to act as an anti-sway strap to keep it from hitting onto the bike rack or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. To do that, just push down on this little tab here and then just pull it out. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Acura MDX- Video

Today on this 2011 Acura MDX, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Roadway 2 Bike Rack, part number TH912XTR. As you can see, we already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now, how this is attached, you're going to have 3 points of contact with your bikes frame. We're going to have 2 straps up top here and 1 off to the side here which is going to actually as an anti-sway strap to keep it from going back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack or the bikes in front of it. Let's go and take the bike off and set it aside. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Acura MDX ETTHT2P-2- Video

Today on this 2011 Acura MDX we're going to be test-fitting the Thule T2 Pro 2 Bike Rack. Part number TH9034. As you can see we already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The first feature I'd like to show off is the tilting feature which means you can tilt the bike rack away from the vehicle with the bikes still installed. You go to the handle at the front here, you pull in like so, and gently let it down. Then we have access to our rear hatch without having to remove the bikes. With plenty of space on both sides to get whatever we need. more

Thule Vertex Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Acura MDX- Video

Today on our 2011 Acura MDX, we are going to be test fitting the Thule Vertex, this is a tilting and folding 4 bike style rack. We can use it in 1 1/4 and 2 inch hitches. It's part number is TH9029. Now to begin our test fit we are going to slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this, we are going to want to look through the window or the pin hole in the side of the hitch to see when we have our holes lined up. With them lined up there, we'll take our anti rattle bolt, thread that in, and then we'll tighten it down with our wrench. more

SportRack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Acura MDX- Video

Today on our 2011 Acura MDX we're going to be test fitting the platform-style 4-bike rack from Sport Rack. Its part number is SR2902. Now to begin our test fit we're going to slide the shank of the bike rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. Now as we do this we want to keep an eye through the pinhole there in the side of the receiver tube to determine when the hole in our rack is lined up with it. With those lined up we're going to take our bolt - it's our anti-rattle bolt - we're going to slide it in. On this particular rack you'll want to slide it in from the right to the left. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Acura MDX- Video

Today on our 2011 Acura MBX, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro. This is a folding 4 bike rack, designed for use in 1 1/4 and 2 inch hitches, part number TH934XTR. To begin our test fit, we're going to slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we slide this in, we want to be sure that we get the pin hole that's in the rack, or the threaded hole in the rack, lined up with the pin hole in our hitch tube. With those lined up, we're now going to take our anti-rattle bolt, we're going to thread that in, and we'll tighten it down using our wrench. The closest point of the rack to the back of our Acura is going to be here. Looks like about 6 3/4 of an inch away. more
