How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Buyers emergency LED flare kit. This is a six LED flare kit that comes with the charging case that's gonna work for you in place of your traditional rolled flares. You don't get all the fun and smoke of your magnesium flares, but you do get something that's functional, water resistant, and creates high visibility. As you see here in the daylight, they're not the brightest, however, they will increase a little bit of visibility on the road if you have the flashing lights, just as one of the reflective signs you may use while you're changing a tire or putting on snow chains. And you can see that with the magnet, it's holding on pretty well on the back of the truck. You can also use these guys as warning lights. more

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today, we're taking a look at Coghlan's Clear Plastic Emergency Rain Poncho. You can keep this reusable emergency poncho with you on your travels to provide protection from the rain in a pinch. Ponchos very similar to this one have come in handy for me personally a few times in the past. Once on a backpacking trip, I got caught in a rainstorm, and I was able to pull this out rather quickly, and not only did it keep me dry, but it also kept my backpack that I was wearing dry, so it was nice when I arrived at my destination, not only was I dry, but my backpack and the stuff that was in my backpack was dry, so that was very nice and a really good reason to have one of these easily accessible, especially when you're outdoors for a good length of time. Another time was at the amusement park with my family, and we anticipated the possibility of rain throughout the day, so we we're able to keep these easily stowed away with us, and when the rain popped up, we we're able to put these on and we we're kept dry until the rain passed, and it did not dampen our fun at the amusement park. So there are multiple reasons why you would wanna have an emergency poncho with you, whether it's in your vehicle or in your everyday carry bag, just in case the unexpected rainstorm might pop up. more

Review of Coghlans Emergency Supplies - Laminated Glass Emergency Signal Mirror - CG54PR- Video
Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today, we're gonna take a quick look at Coghlan's Emergency Signal Mirror. Now, if you are looking to add helpful, affordable items to an emergency kit for roadside, camping, or boating emergencies, this would be a great item for you to consider. This mirror can reflect light on targets up to about 10 miles away to signal that you need help, and an item like this could be very helpful if you're in a deserted area where you have no cell phone service or maybe your cell phone has no charge. The targeting mesh grid in the center, helps you aim light more accurately and it utilizes a sight-grid reflective mesh to aim reflected light. The laminated glass is highly reflective, and I tested something like this very similar some time ago just to see how a signal mirror works, and it's real simple to use, you just go outside and while the sun is visible and it's not really obscured by clouds, you try to get the sun's reflection on a surface like your hand or maybe on the ground, somewhere where you can easily see it, and then once you have that reflection, you just slowly bring the mirror up to your eye, and then you will see a bright spot here in the sight, and then that is going to allow you then to target that light where you would like to aim it and where you would like the light to reflect off of. So this is very easy to use and it's very simple to just to have on hand in case an emergency arises it's not gonna be that complicated to use. more

Now, this system will disinfect and neutralize your water, whether you're out on a backpacking trip or at your camp site. This is intended for emergency use only, so you wouldn't want to continuously drink water that is treated by this system, this is just for in case you're out on a hike or a backpacking excursion, you've run out of water, and you need that emergency supply of water to hydrate you enough to get you back to where you have access to clean drinking water, that's what this is for, not for a continuous drinking on a regular basis. Let's take a closer look at these bottles. Now, what you will have is your germicidal tablets and then your neutralizing tablets. And the way that this works is you would use two germicidal tablets to disinfect approximately one quart or one liter of water, and then the neutralizer tablets will come into place after the germicidal tablets have disinfected your water. more

Now we never know when that situation may arise when we need a little bit of light and heat, and this guy can definitely go a long way. You're gonna see that we have about three independent wicks and each one is gonna have 12 hours of total burn time. So therefore, if we appropriately ration ourselves, we can get the 36 hours of light and heat from this guy. Now, one thing to take note though, Coghlan's does go ahead and suggest that we go ahead and utilize about three hours per wick in a rotation basis. more

This is a great thing to have, especially in your car, your RV, whenever you're traveling, just to have it in case you run into an emergency, you're stranded by the highway, and you need something to create awareness and visibility.I like these because they come in a set of three, so you can space them out just to create that situation that you need in order to grab attention or visibility. Also, these are reusable, so you can turn them on, you can turn them off, and reuse them again for the next situation.Now, some of the downsides of this design is, unlike your other regular flares that are biodegradable, you can just use them and leave them there, these you have to go back and pick up. But that's fine because then you can use them again for your next situation. more

Now it's often a good idea to have three of these for any kind of emergency situation, that way you can stagger them out and have a couple in line so that drivers are alerted to your presence on the side of the highway before they get to you, that keeps you from clipping you, causing any kind of further accidents. If you're trying to fix a flat or handle whatever's gone wrong with your vehicle. At least one is always good. If you just only can get the one guy, at least you'll have some kind of warning so other drivers will know that they're coming up on somebody who's on the shoulder.So it's pretty easy to put this up and get it put away, it's fairly compact. If you do any kind of overland trucking or you're towing a lot, anything where you're going to be on the road all the time, this is just a smart kit to have with you. It allows other drivers to see that there's a car on the side of the road, so hopefully it will give you a little bit more room to work so you don't have to worry about anybody clipping you while you're trying to fix something that's gone wrong with your vehicle.As far as what this kit comes with, it does come with the three triangles plus a storage box, so that makes it pretty easy to transport. And picking it up, it was heavier than I really anticipated, and that's a good thing because you don't want these to be able to be easy to knock over. That's why it's got these weighted bases to make sure that they're going to be really stable. more
