Best 2008 Nissan Maxima Trailer Wiring Harness Options

Speaker 1: Today on our 2008 Nissan Maxima we'll be having a look at our best trailer wiring options. We have three wiring harnesses here today. This one here is our Tekonsha T-One, part number 118470. This one is our CURT T-Connector, part number 56022. Then this one is our Hopkins Plug-In Simple! wiring harness, part number HM11143675.The first biggest difference that we found between our three wiring harnesses is in regards to power output. Our Tekonsha wiring harness is rated for 5.6 amps of power output on the taillight and running light circuit, and then our stop and turn signal circuits are rated at 2.1 amps per side, whereas on our CURT T-Connector, our taillight and running light circuit is rated for six amps and our stop and turn signal circuits are rated for three amps per side. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Nissan Maxima

Today on our 2008 Nissan Maxima, were gonna install the Curt T-Connector Wiring Kit part number 56022.Now when we got our spare tire components cleared out, we need to remove the rear threshold and the plastic fasteners that secure the carpeting behind both rear taillights. Now you can see we have the access to the wiring behind the driver side taillight. On the driver side, well take the connector that has the yellow, red and brown wire running to it. Were gonna plug this in line with the manufacturers connection. Press on the locking tab, disconnect the two connection points for the manufacturer, well plug our new harness in line with the manufacturers. Next, were gonna take our white wire with the ring terminal and were gonna ground it back here to the sheet metal. Were gonna go back to this sheet metal because this is where the sheet metal overlaps so itll be a little bit thicker and give us a better grounding point. With our ground wire installed, well go ahead and add our two-way adhesive to the back of our converter box. more
