Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Kia Optima we'll be having a look at our best trailer wiring options. We have two wiring harnesses here today. This one here is the Tekonsha T-One, part number 118453. This one here is the CURT T-Connector, part number C56314.The first biggest difference that we found between our two wiring harnesses here today is as far as ease of install. Our Tekonsha wiring harness we simply plug into our vehicle's taillights and ground it with a sheet metal screw to the vehicle's chassis. However, on our CURT wiring harness we have one additional step. more

Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2015 Kia Optima

Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Kia Optima, we'll be having a look at and installing the CURT T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with the four-pole flat trailer connector, part number C56058. Here's what our wiring looks like installed. As you can see, it's designed to be hidden inside of our vehicle to help protect it from the elements, and so we don't have to worry about it becoming damaged when we are loading cargo in and out of our trunk. When we're ready to use it, we need to drape it to the side here of our trunk latch, and it'll dangle down by our hitch. Close our trunk up on over it.Now, this wiring harness gives us the basic lighting functions that are required by law in order for us to safely and legally tow a trailer. This white wire here provides our necessary ground between our Optima and our trailer, so our lights work properly. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2025 Kia Optima, we'll be taking a look at and installing the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness with a four-pole flat trailer connector, part number 118453. Now, here's what our wiring looks like installed. When it's not in use, we can simply tuck it up out of the way underneath our cargo cover, and it's like it's not even there. This will prevent anything from damaging it when we're loading cargo in and out of our trunk. This will also keep it out of the elements, too, to help better protect it.When we're ready to tow, you can grab our wiring. Drape it on up over our threshold here, making sure it sits to the side of our trunk latch. more
