Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2014 Jeep Patriot

2014 Jeep Patriot we are going to show you how to install the tow ready T1 vehicle wiring harness with the 4 pull flat trailer connector. Part number is 118552. Here is what our wiring kit is going to look like when we get it. Here is the goal. We want a functioning 4 pull, this is going to give us ground for our trailer, also going to give us our running lights; blinkers and breaks. There is a protective cap that is meant to slide over the end to keep it out of the elements. Good length of wire, that's going to run into our converter box. What this box is going to do is it's going to take signal behind our driver side tail light, using the T connector, you can see our factory plugs here, and the passenger side tail light here with the green wire, brings it all into the box where it converts it into a usable signal for our trailer. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2014 Jeep Patriot C56162

Today on our 2014 Jeep Patriot, we're going to be installing the Curt T Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with the four pole flat trailer connector, part number C56162. We'll begin by opening our rear hatch up and we're going to remove the two push pin connectors located here on the passenger side and in the same spot on the driver's side. A small screwdriver, if you have it a small pick is really all you need to just kind of pry the center of that fastener up and then we'll pull the main body of it out. We'll do it for both connection points on this side. Sometimes the centers will pop out. Not a big deal, you can just poke it right back in there. Now at this point, it's going to tell you to remove both rear lenses and unplug the connectors from the rear. We're going to do them one at a time. more
