Today on this 2011 Jeep Patriot, we're going to review and install the T-One vehicle wiring harness from Tekonsha, part number 118552. Let's go ahead and take a look at the parts that come with the kit. First off, this is our wire harness right here. We'll start off with the little box right here. This is the actual module and what happens is it takes the signal from the car from these two ends right here, goes in this box and uses a powerful battery to copy those signals and sends them out to your trailer. That way, if there's any problems on your trailer they'll be insulated from the wire harness on your vehicle. more

Best 2011 Jeep Patriot Trailer Wiring Options

On this 2011 Jeep Patriot, we're going to go ahead and take a look at the best wiring options available. Let's go ahead and take a look at our wire options. We have one from Hopkins, this is part number HM11142175. Our next one is from Curt, this is part number C56162, and one from Tekonsha part number 118552. These all gonna perform the same function, so let's go ahead and cover their similarities first. They're all going to come standard with a four pole flat trailer connector, industry standard, so it'll fit all different brands, don't have to have matching brands on the four poles. All the wire harnesses will come with connectors, right here, that will match up perfectly to OEM ones that are behind your taillight. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2011 Jeep Patriot C56019

Today on our 2011 Jeep Patriot we're going to install the Curt T1 Wiring Kit, part number C56019. To begin installation we'll go ahead and open up the rear cargo door and remove the two fasteners that secure the driver's side tail light assembly. Now the fascia is out of the way we'll go ahead and pop the lens assembly away from the sheet metal of the vehicle. Be careful not to break the alignment tabs that you can see here. Next we'll go ahead and remove the manufacturer's wiring from the top wiring connector and socket. To do so we'll unlock the red locking tab then press on the connector lock and remove it from the connector. more
