So the wiring kit is a four-pole, so that's gonna allow you to send signals from your brake lights and running lights as well as turn signals to your trailer. And that way, you can indicate what you're doing, keeping you safe and legal, and letting the people know behind you what you're intending to do. Speaker 1: Today, on our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're gonna be installing Curt's T-connector vehicle wiring harness for factory tow packages, with a seven-way and four-pole flat connector. Part number C55774.This harness and connector package is gonna give you a four-pole and seven-pole connector for the back of your Grand Cherokee. This will give you all the necessary lighting, out of both your seven-way and four-pole, which includes your left turn signal, right turn signal, brake lamps, and tail lamps. And, additionally, on your seven-way connector, you're gonna get an auxiliary power wire, brake signal wire for a break controller, and a backup light wire.Your seven-way has a spring-loaded lid, with a seal on the inside to prevent any moisture from entering it, causing corrosion.Your four-pole has a dust cap to help keep out moisture and corrosion, as well.This is a great option if you've got multiple trailers. So, if you've just got a little trailer for hauling around some gear, your four-pole's there. Whenever you got a big boat you wanna pull behind you that's got a breaking system on it, you can use your seven-way, and you're all set.We'll begin our installation by installing a long bracket, so we have a place to mount our seven-pole connector. more

Part number is 118384.Here's what your wiring harness is going to look like. You can see, here's the four full connector, where after this is going to work with any standard four flat trailer connector. It's going to give us our right turn signal and brake, our left turn signal and brake, ground wire gives us our running lights, and the white wire is going to give us ground to make sure everything is connected properly together.You see where it gets its name. Right here we have our T connector. This is going to plug into a very conveniently located plug on the backside of the fascia. more

Best 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailer Wiring Options- Video
Today on our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we'll be having a look at our best trailer wiring options. Okay, we have three options here today for the Jeep Grand Cherokee, that is equipped with a factory tow package. If you don't have the factory tow package, we have several other options available on our website for you. Over here, to the right, we have the Hopkins 7- and 4-pole trailer connector socket with mounting bracket. It's part number HM40975. In the middle, we have the Tekonsha Multi-tow 7-way and 4-pole trailer connector, part number 20119. And finally, off to the left, we have the Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness, with 7-way and 4-pole connectors, part number C55774. Now, the biggest difference that we found between our three wiring harnesses that we have here today, is the overall appearance that they have once they're on the vehicle. more

Trailer Connector Socket Installation - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today on our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee we're going to show you how to install the Hopkins Pollak 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket with Mounting Bracket, part number HM40975. Here's what the wiring kit is going to come with. We're going to have a nice mounting bracket here. It's going to have a couple of pre-drilled holes there. We typically can use these self-tappers to go right up through. On the Grand Cherokee we don't have a good solid surface so we've got a bracket to take care of that, we'll show you in just a minute. The plug itself is really neat. more

This is what you get with the part number, this is the wire harness that plugs into the factory port on the vehicle and then it comes out to the other end, a four-pole flat. Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee C55515- Video
Today, on our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to install the Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector. Part number C55515. To begin our install, we'll first locate the manufacturer's tow connector wiring harness. When we follow the manufacturer's wiring harness here, down the back of the vehicle, and to the back of the fascia, we can grab the round wiring connector and pull it free. Once we have access to it, we'll press on the connector lock and remove the weather pack plug that keeps it clean and free of dirt, dust, debris, and moisture. Once we have it removed, we'll go ahead and take our new harness, match it up with the manufacturer's, and install the new connector. Note, I do recommend to use some of the Edelmann Dielectric Grease on the connector. Part number 11755. more
