Best 2007 Honda CR-V Trailer Wiring Options

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the best custom fit vehicle wiring options for your 2007 Honda CR-V. Up top, we've got the Tekonsha T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 118427. On bottom, we've got the CURT T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C55106. The biggest difference that you're going to see between these two wiring harnesses is on the Tekonsha, the converter box is circuit protected. Even if there's a short in the trailer or in the wiring for our converter box, it's not going to go back and blow the fuse on the vehicle. The next difference we'll see is in the amperage ratings that's going to be on each circuit on the 4-pole wiring. With the Tekonsha, it's going to be rated at five amps on the tail light circuit and 2.1 amps on the stop and turn signal circuits. Where on the CURT, it's going to feature five amps on the tail light circuit but three amps on the stop and turn circuits. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Honda CR-V

Today in our 2007 Honda CRV we'll be installing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Connection Point, part number C55106. Now to begin our install we'll first open up the rear hatch and then remove the spare tire cover. Next we'll need to remove the rear threshold. So we'll remove the two pushpin fasteners and two cargo hooks. Once we remove the cargo hooks and the pushpin fasteners we'll gently pull up on the rear threshold releasing the fasteners underneath. Now we'll need to gain access to the manufacturer's wiring behind the interior panel on the driver's side. We'll move the pushpin fastener in the bottom of the panel and then gently pull out releasing the fasteners underneath until we can gain access to the manufacturer's tow port, which is a white plug taped to the manufacturer's harness using blue tape. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Honda CR-V 118427

Today on this 2007 Honda CR-V we are going to install part number 118427 from Tow Ready. Alright, the first thing we need to do is get inside the vehicle and remove the interior panels to find the port that we need to plug the wire harness in to. Remove the floor panel until we are down to the spare tire. We also need to remove the threshold so we can pull apart this side panel right here. First we will go ahead and remove the tie-down loops that are on the inside here. We will just go ahead and remove them. We have the driver side done. Now let us do the passenger side. OK to remove the plastic rivets it is a little bit different from most. You actually take the center and push it down. And then it pops right out. You can use your fingers or you can use a special tool to help pop them up. But usually apply pressure and they will release on their own. Pop open this panel. There is a little tab you have to pull out. And then you want to use a trim tool to pop the releases here. There is a plastic rivet here that you have to remove as well. It gives you a little bit extra wiggle room. And then you can pop the panel a little bit more until you can see the interior wiring. 1:08 more
