Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Curt T-connector trailer wiring harness, here on our 2017 Ford Edge. So your trailer wiring harness is gonna be one of the few things that we need in order to successfully tow a trailer with our Edge. In addition to this, we're gonna need a trailer hitch and a ball mount/hitch ball, all of which we carry here at etrailer. Now simply put, our trailer wiring harness is gonna transfer these signals from the vehicle to our trailers. Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ford Edge, you're going to be taking a look at and I'm going to show you how to install the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number 118669.This is what our wiring looks like when it's installed. It's going to give you all the proper lighting plugs you need for towing your trailer so you can get down the road safely. It's going to give you your turn signals, your brake lights, your ground, and your running lights. You have a nice attached dust cap that's going to help keep any dirt and debris and moisture from getting on your connections and corroding over time.This wiring harness is going to have a power wire that's going to run up to the battery, so it's going to be drawing power from that instead of drawing power from the vehicle's taillights. How that helps is you're going to have 4.2 amps per circuit for your stop and turn signal, and then you're going to have 7.5 amps for your taillights. If you have a few extra lights on your trailer, having that power wire running up to your batter is going to maintain the brightness of the lights on your vehicle and the trailer because it's not drawing any power from the vehicle.One nice thing about the attached dust cap is it can double as a holder when not in use to keep your wiring from dragging the ground. more

Today we're going to take a look at the best wiring options for your 2017 Ford Edge SE or SEL model. Now these are going to be your best wiring options. Here we have the Tekonsha, part number 118669. Then over here we have our CURT, part number C56272. Now the end result is going to give you a four-flat to connect to your trailer, but the way we get it is going to be a little bit different. With the Tekonsha, the wiring is going to stay on the outside of the vehicle at all times. Now the CURT, on the other hand, our wiring's going to be tucked away underneath by our spare tire. more
