Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Traverse, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with factory tow package, part number 118270. Here's what our wiring looks like fully installed. Now, we are using a bracket that is not included in our kit, but you can pick up several different options to mount your wiring on our website. Now, our wiring is going to give us a four-pole flat and all the required lights to have a trailer going down the road safely, such as our stop lights, turn signals and clearance lights. Now, this kit is for the factory tow package, so we're just going to have one length of wire that's going to run to our factory connector. Then, we're going to have a few fuses and relays that we're going to put in that'll start making everything function properly. Now that we've seen what it looks like when it's fully installed, let's show you how we got it there. To begin our installation, I already went ahead and removed our fascia door right here just so we can have access to our hitch and back here. Now, we're going to need to find the factory end that we're going to connect our harness to, which is going to be on the passenger side. more

With the seven way, you're going to have more versatility with trailers. It also allows you to use trailer brakes, as long as you have a brake controller installed on your vehicle. This is what you're going to get in your wiring kit. You're going to get your seven way connector that's going to be hooked up on the back of your vehicle. You're going to have your plug, which this end's going to hook into your seven way once we get it ran. This end's going to hook into your existing wiring, which I'm going to show you how to install that. more

To start out, we're going to go ahead and go to the passenger side rear fender well. Go ahead and pull out the torx bit fasteners. Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Traverse, we'll be installing the Tow Ready, T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, part number 118579. Now to begin our install, we'll first open up the rear hatch. We'll locate the 2 fasteners on each side to secure the tail light assemblies. We'll remove the cover of the fastener first to expose it and then remove the fastener. Once we've unscrewed the tail light assembly, we'll go ahead and pop it out. We can locate the electrical connector that goes into the back of the tail light socket and remove the plug. To remove the connector, we'll pull back on the red locking tabs. After we separate the 2 on the driver's side, we'll move over to the passenger side and repeat the same process ... more
