Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Today on our 2018 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the CURT T-Connector vehicle wiring harness for factory tow package with a four-pole flat trailer connector. That's going to be part number C55384.Here's what our wiring's going to look like once woo hoo it installed. It is going to provide us with a four-pole flat trailer connector and it's going to give us all the required lights we need to safely get down the road like our taillights, turn signals, and our stop lights. Our wiring is going to plug directly into the factory tow package so it's going to be a very simple installation. If your truck already has the seven-way at the back, we're still going to be able to keep that function because it's going to have a T-connector, and it'll give us the option to tow a trailer that has a four-pole on it. Our wiring is going to come with a dust cap which will work to hook onto your safety chain loop if you don't have a bracket. Our wiring is also going to have this loom so it's going to help protect the wires and keep those bright colors down on the back of your truck. To begin our installation, we're going to come to the back bumperof our Silverado, and right next to our license plate on the driver side we're going to have this plug. more

Today on our 2018 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness with four-pole flat trailer connector. That's part number 118384.Here's what our wiring looks like once we have it installed. It is going to provide us with a four-pole flat trailer connector so we have all the required lights to get down the road safely, like our taillights, turn signals, and our brake lights. The nice thing about our wiring is that we're not going to have to cut or splice into our factory wiring at all. If you have the factory seven-way, we're still going to be able to retain that function while adding another four-pole connector so we can hook up to multiple trailers. Our wiring is going to have loom protecting our wires and also help hide some of those colors while it's on the back of the truck. more

Trailer Connector Socket Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video

Trailer Connector Socket Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Speaker 1: Today in our 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're going to be taking a look at the Hopkins 7 and 4 pole trailer connector socket with mounting bracket, part number HM40975.So here's what our wiring's going to look like once we have it installed. It is going to give us a seven way RV style connector, so we're going to have all of our lighting functions, 12 volt power, and our trailer brake controller ready for us. And at the same time it is going to give us a 4 pole flat trailer connector, which is going to give us all of our lighting functions, if our trailer doesn't have brakes. Now this is going to be a direct replacement for the factory plug that comes in the bumper. If your Silverado doesn't have that plug, or if you don't want to mount it there, our kit is going to come with a bracket so we can mount it somewhere else like the bottom of our hitch or the bottom of our bumper. And on the outside, it is going to have a legend letting us know which pin is going to do what, which is going to make testing our lights and all the functions really easy. And you just figure out which pin we need to check and it's also going to be on the 4 pole as well. Our connector's going to have a spring loaded cover so it's going to automatically close when we disconnect. more
