Hopkins Multi-Tow Trailer Connector Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Hi there Chevrolet owners. Today in your 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Hopkins Multi-Tow 7-Way Blade and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector. And this is what our replacement connector's going to look like when it's installed. It replaces your factory connector or dummy plug that may be present and provide you with a 7-pole connector on top and a 4-pole connector on bottom, which really opens up your vehicle to being able to tow just about any type of trailer. You've got your 7-Way for your larger trailers that may have brakes, and you've got your 4-Way for your smaller trailers that just need lighting. I also like that the doors are spring loaded that snap shut, and there are rubber gaskets found on the inside of each one to keep out any dirt, debris and moisture to ensure long lasting connection and operation of both the 4- and 7-Way.And what I like even more is that on the front of our covers here, we have a diagram with a pin out of each circuit in our connector. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best wiring options for your 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Depending on the situation you find yourself in, we're going to have three different options. Here on your right side we're going to have Tow Ready's Draw-Tite gooseneck fifth wheel wiring. Here in the center we're going to have Hopkins' replacement OEM seven and four-pole plug. Here on your left we're going to have CURT's four-pole add-on wiring.Let's talk about our gooseneck fifth wheel wiring harness first. This is going to allow us to utilize our factory seven-pole plug on the back of our vehicle while adding a seven-pole plug in the back of the truck. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 we're going to be taking a look at the Reese Replacement Multi-Tow 7-Way and 4-Pole Trailer Connector. Part number is 74682. Now this plug I really like the design of. Basically we have our 7-pole round plug as well as our 4-pole flat plug available right here on the back of the truck. That eliminates the need for any adapters or anything. Your 7-round and 4-flat are two of the most common trailer connectors out there, typically this is going to be your smaller utility trailers. more

Trailer Connector Socket Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're gonna take a look at and also show you how to install the Hopkins Seven and Four Pole Trailer Connector Socket, part number is HM40975.Now the replacement plug is gonna give us the option of using a seven pole round or a four pole flat, so that's gonna cover a majority of the trailers out there. These are your two most common connections. See each of our covers has a rubber gasket located all the way around. It's designed to press up against that raised edge. That's gonna give us a water-tight seal so dust, moisture, things like that, we're not gonna have to worry about it getting in. There's also a keeper tab right here so once your seven pole is in, it's gotta a tab that matches that and it'll prevent that from coming out.Our four pole has the same style protection inside of the cover. more

Demco 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Wiring Harness Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 we'll be having a look at and installing the Demco 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness with 7-Pole Plug, part number DM8555001. Here's what our seven-way connector looks like installed in the bed of our truck. With the location that we have here, we'll have quick and easy access to hook up to our gooseneck or fifth-wheel trailer. In most applications, the wiring harness on the end of a gooseneck or fifth-wheel isn't long enough to reach where your factory seven-way is on your bumper. And if it was, you'd have to have it draped over your tailgate, and it could possibly get snagged or disconnected when you're making sharp turns. With our location here, we don't have to worry about that. It also gives us a quicker way of hooking up once we couple up to our trailer. more
