Best 2010 Chevrolet Impala Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring Options

Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com, and today you're going to be taking a look at the best trailer wiring options for your 2006 through 2013 Chevrolet Impala. Here we're going to have our CURT wiring, which is going to give us a four-pole flat trailer connector. Then over here we're going to have our Tekonsha wiring, which is also going to give us a four-pole flat trailer connector. Now if I was looking for wiring for my Impala, I personally would go with the CURT because a few little things that they give you that the Tekonsha doesn't in the packaging. Let's take a closer look at some of the features of both of them.Since both of our kits are going to give us that four-pole flat trailer connector, it's going to give us all the required lights to get down the road safely, like our taillights, turn signals, and our brake lights. As far as installation goes, it is going to be custom fit, so we're not going to have to worry about cutting or splicing with either one of our wiring kits. We're just going to have a simple T-connector that's going to plug inline behind our passenger side taillight. Now CURT's going to use the same T-style connector to plug in behind the passenger taillight, but they're going to provide you with some black silicone because there's a rubber grommet that we can cut a slit in, pass our wires through, and then our wiring is going to stay inside the trunk until we need it, whereas the Tekonsha is designed to stay on the outside. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2010 Chevrolet Impala

Today on our 2010 Chevrolet Impala, we're going to be installing the Tow Ready T-One vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number: 118417. We're also going to be installing the Tow Ready 4-flat universal mounting bracket, part number: 118149. And we'll begin our installation by raising the trunk lid. Now we're going to need to remove this threshold here at the trunk. To do that, we'll need to take out this fastener right here. To remove this fastener, we'll use a flat-head screwdriver or trim panel removal tool or you can use two flat-head screwdrivers. Next we'll go over to the passenger side and remove the same fastener. more
