Speaker 1: Today on our 2013 Chevrolet Equinox we're going to be installing a Hopkins four pole flat trailer connector, part number HM11141275. This wiring harness from Hopkins will allow you to get all of your necessary trailer lighting back at a four pole flat connector. That includes your left turn signals, right turn signals, tail lamps, and brake lamps, so you'll be DOT compliant in all states.On the end you'll have a small dust cap to keep out any moisture, dirt and corrosion. It's got a nice tight seal. It can also be used to keep your wiring up and held on to your safety chain loops. When you compare this harness to other options that are available, this is one of the easiest to install. more

Part number C56210.Here's what our wiring looks like installed. As you can see, when it's not in use, it's designed to be stored inside of our vehicle, out of the elements and out of the way, underneath our spare tire cover. When we want to use it, we can simply grab out how much we're gonna need, we'll set it to the side of our hatch latch here. That way when we close our hatch, it won't get pinched and damaged in it. We'll lay it flat over weather stripping, and we'll close the hatch over it.We have plenty of wire to get down next to the receiver on our hitch, making this easily accessible for when we want to tow our trailer. more

As you can see, when it's not in use, it's designed to be stored inside of our spare tire compartment. When we want to tow our trailer, we can simply grab what we need, set it to the side of our hatch latch here, that way it won't get damaged and pinched in it when we close the hatch, and we'll just drape it flat over our weather stripping here. This won't damage it, this will hold it in place. Now, we can close our hatch. Today in our 2013 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be having a look at and installing the Tekonsha T1 Vehicle wiring harness with a four pull flat trailer connector, part number 118494. Here's what our wiring looks like installed. As you can see, we can easily secure it up to our hitch safety chain loop here using the built on dust cover. This dust cover will help protect our wiring when it's not in use so we don't have to worry about any dirt, debris or moisture getting inside causing contamination or a short later down the road. Now this wiring harness has an adequate length wire on it. We actually have it zip tied up underneath our fascia right now. This wiring harness will give us our necessary functions as required by law in order to safely tow a trailer; for all of our tail lights, our running lights, our turn signals, and our brake lights. Now one nice thing about this wiring harness compared to others on the market is that it has a powered module, which will help isolate our vehicle's lighting system circuitry from our trailer so in case our trailer has short we don't have to worry about any damage occurring to our vehicle's expensive electrical components. more

Today on our 2013 Chevrolet Equinox we're going to be taking a look at the best wiring options available. The two wiring options we're going to be taking a look at are the CURT T-Connedctor, and that's part number 56094. The second one is going to be the Tekonsha T-One Connector. That's part number 118494. Both are going to provide you with a four-pole flat connector for your trailer wiring at the rear of the vehicle. The main differences between the wiring harnesses are the Tekonsha here uses a power module. What this does is it connects directly to your battery, copies the signal to your trailer wiring, and prevents overloading your car's electrical system. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Chevrolet Equinox 56094

Today on our 2013 Chevy Equinox, well be installing the Curt Four-pole Wiring Harness, part number 56094. First well need to remove the taillight assembly on the driver and passenger side. To remove the taillight assemblies, well first remove the caps, just a flat-bladed screwdriver, popping them free and setting aside. Then the two screw fasteners by removing them and setting aside. Now well carefully pop the rear taillight assembly out of place, being careful not to break the alignment tabs in the process. Now well go ahead and disconnect the manufacturers wiring by pressing on a locking tab and were removing it from the taillight assembly. more
