Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2011 Chevrolet Equinox

Speaker 1: Today on our 2011 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to be taking a look at and I'm going to show you how to install the Hopkins plug-in simple vehicle wiring harness with four pole flat trailer connector, part number HM11141275. This is what our four pole plug looks like when it's installed. It's going to give you all the proper lighting functions for your trailer; your running lights, brake lights, and both turn signals, along with your ground. It's also going to come with a nice dust cap that's going to help protect any of your connections, keep them from corroding, getting any dirt, grime, or any moisture on them. When not in use, our dust cap can double as a holder to keep our wire from dragging on the ground. It is a very simple installation. Remove your taillights, you plug it into the existing wiring, run your four pole down to the back here, and you're ready to go. more

Best 2011 Chevrolet Equinox Trailer Wiring Options

Today on our 2011 Chevrolet Equinox we're going to be taking a look at the best wiring options available. The two wiring options we're going to be taking a look at our the CURT T Connector, and that's part number 56094, and the second one is going to be the Tekonsha T1 Connector, and that's part number 118494. Both are going to provide you with a four-pole flat connector for your trailer wiring at the rear of your vehicle. The main differences between the wiring harnesses are the Tekonsha here uses a power module. What this does is it connects directly to the battery, copies the signal to your trailer wiring, and prevents overloading your car's electrical system. The CURT wiring harness is just going to connect within our taillights and won't offer you the same protection. Because the CURT wiring harness doesn't have a power module the installation is going to be quick and easy, and you'll be on the road in no time. more
