Hey guys, Kevin here with etrailer and today I'm gonna be showing you how to install the CURT Custom Fit Wiring Four Pole Harness here on our 2017 Cadillac XT5. Installation of this trailer wiring harness is easy peasy. You do not need to pay anyone to do it for you because it's gonna take you less than two minutes. Let me show you how to do it. Start off our installation, we're gonna have to first remove this access panel right here, 'cause this is where our hitch is going to be sitting. So we'll just take a seven millimeter socket, we're gonna get these two screws. more

Hello neighbors is Brad here at Etrailer. And today we're taking a look at a few different trailer hitch wiring options on a 2017 Cadillac XT5. Your first step in determining what the best trailer wiring will be for you is, seeing what kind of options you need as far as a four-pole versus a seven. So your four-pole is gonna be great for your smaller trailers and just your basic connection to get your lights and signals working to let the people know behind you what you are doing. Your seven way is gonna be great if you plan on towing a trailer that has brakes integrated and that way you can send the breaking signal to the actual brakes on the trailer and slow it down. T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2017 Cadillac XT5- Video
Today in our 2017 Cadillac XT5, we'll be installing a Tekonsha T-one vehicle wire harness for a factory tow package that'll give us a four-pole flat-trailer connector, part number 118720. Here's what a wiring harness looks like installed. As you can see, we can just hook it onto our safety chain loop of our hitch, so it's readily accessible. We have plenty of slack in the wiring, so if we wanted to have it hang out a little bit more, we could. I just have it tucked up here as high as I could. When we're ready to use it, we just undo the dust cover here, un-pull it from the safety-chain loop. Now this four-pole flat will give us all the necessary lighting that we're required by law to have when we tow our trailer. more
