Zach: Hey everybody, Zach here at etrailer.com. Today I have this mini excavator loaded up, I've been testing out a bunch of different chains and binders, kind of seeing what works best. And right now we're going to take a look at this Titan Chain Ratcheting Load Binder. Now this is a "1/2 inch to 5/8 inch chain load binder" and I'm going to be using it with Titan Chain's "1/2 inch" 25 foot transport chain. So, this is a really heavy duty setup, 25 feet is too much for just this corner, but it'll give you a good idea how these binders work. So I'm going to get this chain put in place real quick.What we're going to do, is take out some of the slack here with this load binder. more

This is going to have a safe working load limit of 11,300 pounds.This is going to quickly and easily help you tighten down your chains to secure heavy loads. As you can see with it spread out here, you'll just hook each side onto your chains, and then with the lever, cinch those closed and it'll bring those two chain ends together.Now this is going to have an advantage over similar ratcheting type load binders since it has less moving parts, there's less to maintain. It does allow for a little adjustment here to turn that hook so you can get it in place where you need it to be, and that's the same on both sides. They can both rotate to get it into the position that you need.This is going to be made of a durable forged steel construction, and it also has this nice powder coat finish, which is going to cover all that steel and keep it looking nice for a long time so you don't have to worry about rust or corrosion.This does meet all Department of Transportation regulations. Now, this is going to be a really great, easy, and quick solution to tighten down your chains to secure heavy loads, especially for agricultural or industrial applications. So you'll have your two chains attached to either end with those heavy hooks, and then you can ratchet those down using the handle in the middle, and that will pull both of the hooks on the end towards the center. These have threaded bolts in the center there, and so that's just going to twist and bring them in or out depending on how you have it turned. To reverse that handle, there's just the little lever in the center that you'll flip, and now you can ratchet it in the other direction to either loosen or tighten as you need.Now this is made of a forged steel construction, so it's going to be really strong and durable. more

Now, this Pewag Load Binder is gonna come in really handy for these heavier duty situations. Now, to help secure a load, we're gonna have a 13-inch handle. This allows us to very easily get the leverage we need to loosen or tighten the ratchet.It's gonna offer a maximum reach of 51 inches and a minimum reach of around 38 inches. Redline Chain Load Binder Review- Video
Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Redline 3/8" chain load binder, part number 48313. For demonstration purposes today, we'll be using this 3/8" transportation chain with grab hooks on the end. Let's go over a few quick features of our chain binder here. Both ends swivel 360 to make hooking and unhooking the chain simple. It has these large hooks here designed for a maximum of a 3/8" chain. The binder itself is a pretty simple design. This would be in an open position. Once our chain is hooked on both sides, you simply hold it down so it snaps into the fully closed position. This nice, long handle here gives you plenty of leverage when closing down the binder. The chain binder is made of a drop forged steel. more
