The series that we're working with today is going to be the G-1600 Alpha. If you need a higher flow rating or if you have a triple-axle trailer, that's a good reason to need more flow, that is gonna be the G-1600 X Alpha. The unit itself is going to have a very small construction comparative to a lot of the other accessories on an RV. You can mount it up pretty well anywhere you've got an open footprint of about 6 by 12 inches. more

Now this brake actuator is designed to control your electric or hydraulic brakes by sending electric signals from your brake controller to the Hydropro. And then the Hydropro will send hydraulic fluid back to your disc brakes on your trailer, applying the brakes. Hey neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the hydro star electric over hydraulic actuator for disc brakes on a 2020 Keystone Montana. Now the actuator is really the meat and potatoes of a disc brake conversion. So if you're going from your drums to disk, you do need to have hydraulics to be able to have those pistons compressed. And that's what your actuator does. It's simply just a pump that has your brake fluid in it. more

Basically what happens is when you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle, deceleration occurs and the momentum will push your trailer toward the rear of your vehicle and with a surge brake system then this actuator is triggered as your trailer moves forward once your tow vehicle starts to slow down and when this happens, the inner portion of this actuator will contract, which applies force to the master cylinder in the back here, which then in turn supplies the necessary hydraulic pressure to engage your trailer's brakes. This one will use an acetal copolymer lining between the inner tube and the outer tube. Provides a nice smooth operation as the actuator will telescope in and out. more

Hey, guys. Kevin here with etrailer, and today I'm gonna be showing you how to install the Hydrastar electric-over-hydraulic brake actuator kit for disc brakes, here on our flatbed trailer. Do you haul around heavy machinery on your trailer like our neighbor does here today And you want some more control over your braking and you want more even braking so that you can safely tow that heavy machinery and come to a complete stop exactly when you need to Then an electric-over-hydraulic disc brake kit is going to be the solution for you. The nice thing about an electric-over-hydraulic actuator is that you're gonna be able to use your electric brake controller that's in your tow vehicle. And what that's gonna do is it's going to allow you to manually adjust your breaking settings to exactly what you need it to, depending on the load that you are hauling at the time. Another thing with that is that in the event that you are having some trailer sway, you can easily tap that manual override and activate the actuator so you can kind of brake on the trailer and kind of fix that sway. more
