Review of Taylor Made Bimini Top Parts - Tie Down Straps - TM54YR- Video
Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at these Taylor Made Bimini top adjustable tie-down straps. These are going to allow you to provide tension on the underside of your boat's Bimini top. This is going to provide two of these straps, which are adjustable, very easy to slide that out so that you can adjust the length. So when we have it at its shortest position here, I measured this at about four feet, at the shortest, and at the longest, it goes out to, my measurement was seven and a half feet. They say six feet, so might be somewhere in that range, depending on how tight you need to have it and that sort of thing. more

Now, these aluminum slide assemblies are going to allow you to easily fold your bimini top down behind your boat's rear seat for storage. These are going to replace lost or broken clips from your bimini's tops straps, so you can easily secure your top to your gunwale's eye straps. These clips are made in the USA of heavy duty stainless steel, which is highly resistant to rust and corrosion, making them great for freshwater and saltwater use. These are gonna work with 3/4 of an inch wide tie-down straps. more

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at these Taylor Made Internal Eye Ends. Now these internal eye ends will connect your bimini top's three quarter inch diameter support poles to either jaw slides or deck hinges. Now you'll just slide the eye end into your pole and then you'll bolt your jaw slide or deck hinge here in the center so that you can have that pivoting motion. Again, these are constructed of a Chromed Zamak Alloy that is going to be very corrosion resistant. So especially on your boats that's gonna be a very important quality. more

This is going to fit over top of your one inch by one inch square pontoon bimini top pole that will provide that attachment point that you can connect to your jaw slide or deck hinge there. And I do have a jaw slide to show you just how simple this is to connect. So you get them lined up with holes there and just reinsert the bolt through the tube and then tighten that down, that will allow your bimini top to be adjusted, whether you want it to be closed up or extended out. more

These are going to work for your seven eighths of an inch Bimini top poles. Basically just slide these onto your Bimini top support poles.This screw can be removed to insert your eye end there, so you can pivot in to adjust your Bimini top, and then this can be raised and lowered on that support pole. And then, whenever you have it where you want it, just use a one eighth inch hex wrench to get that bolt tightened down inside there. more

Michael: Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the tailor-made I straps for your Bimini tops. These are going to screw down into your boat's gunnel or sidewall and provide a nice attachment point for your Bimini top straps so that you can hold your Bimini top open.These are a white nylon construction so they're going to be corrosion-proof, you're not going to have to worry about them rusting in that humid air around the water. Now keep in mind they are nylon so it's like a plastic, but it seems like a very firm plastic to me. I can't bend it, so it seems very strong. It's probably not going to hold up to your typhoon-type conditions, but under normal circumstance, I think these are going to do a good job helping to hold that Bimini top open for you.Now, the mounting hardware to get these installed is not included so you will need to pick that up separately, probably just some normal screws, depending on what kind of surface you're drilling them into.These are made here in the USA so you can trust they are made to the high quality standard we've come to know and trust for products made here in the US.As far as our measurements go, they are right about, let's say about 1 7/8ths, just shy of two inches long. more

These are designed to mount horizontally on your boats gunwale, and connect to the Bimini top support poles to give a solid foundation for your support poles, so you can open and close your Bimini top.They are made out of a black nylon so you're not going to have to worry about them rusting under wet conditions, and your kit is going to come with two hinges, two of these bolts to connect the hinge to an eye end, and four mounting screws. The hinges are about 2 1/2" inches long, about 7/8" wide and right about 1 1/4" tall. Now to use these, You will need an eye end. The eye end does not come with this kit. more

These thumb screws replace the traditional screws in your inaudible 00:00:12 hinges to allow you to quickly and easily remove your Bimini boat top so that way you don't have to worry about fumbling with a screwdriver. If the winds pick up while you're out and you want to put your Bimini boat top down, you'll be able to easily just unscrew these with your fingers.They will work with stainless steel and chrome inaudible 00:00:35 hinges. They are right about an inch long, if you're not counting the head here and they are a quarter inch in diameter with 20 course threads per inch. The head diameter is about three quarters of an inch and these are the white option. more

This deck hinge is designed to mount horizontally on the gunwale of your boat, to connect to your Bimini top support poles. It is made out of stainless steel, so it's going to be very corrosion resistant and as you can see it does have that 60 degree angle so that our Bimini poles are going to stick out rather than being straight up and down. Our hinge is right about two and three sixteenths of an inch or just under two and a quarter inch long by about one inch wide and about an inch and a half tall.Now the way this works, you'll secure your hinge to your gunwales with screws. The screws are not provided in this kit. more

As you can see on the side, we're going to have 1/8" Allen bolt that can be backed out to create more room inside for your pole. And then once your pole is placed inside, you can use an Allen wrench to tighten that down to secure it onto the pole. more

Michael: Hi, I'm Michael with etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Taylor made Bimini top jaw slides. These slides allow you to securely connect your Bimini top to your support poles, to properly support your top in the open position. They are made out of a black nylon, and they're going to fit poles that are seven-eighths inch in diameter. You'll see you have your Phillip bolts here, which is going to allow you to connect an eye end in here, the eye end is not included, but I would recommend picking up one using part number, three six nine one one seven zero three. And to use this, we'll take out our Phillips head there, line up our holes with our eye piece and then screw in that again. This is going to allow you to put your Bimini top up and it will create a hinge effect so that your Bimini top can rest in the open position.When attaching this to your upright pole, you'll want to make sure that your Allen bolt is backed out far enough, that you have a nice wide opening in there, and you can simply slide it on and tighten your Allen bolt.This kit is going to come with two jaws fines, and again, the eye piece is not included. more

Today, we're going to take a look at the Taylor Made Bimini Top Stainless Steel External Eye End for one inch diameter poles, for a quantity of one. Now this is a Taylor Made external eye end that'll allow you to connect your support poles to the jaw slides to securely support your Bimini boat top. It will fit Bimini poles with a diameter of one inch. If you notice, it has an Allen set screw on the side here to hold the pole to the eye end.It is a nice polished stainless steel construction. It is for quantity of one eye end, and a few measurements on this. The overall length one end to the other is right at two and a quarter inches. more
