etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit Installation - 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look, and installing the etrailer Base Plate on a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee. There's five main components required for flat towing any vehicle. And starting on the vehicle side, we have our base plate, and that's gonna attach to the frame of the vehicle, creating a structural mounting point, for not only your tow bar, but all of your other components. So connecting to that base plate, we have the tow bar, so this will go from that base plate to the hitch on the RV, and that's what tows the car down the road. And just like a trailer, you do have safety cables, just in case of a disconnect, it's gonna hold everything together. We also have diode wiring, which is gonna transmit the light signals from the RV to the taillights on the towed vehicle, giving you your running lights, your turn signals, and brake lights, and sometimes, your braking systems will need to tie into diode wiring, so that is a highly recommended item. more

When it comes to flat towing any vehicle, there's gonna be five main components that are gonna be required. Now you may have a few auxiliary things that you're gonna want to add in, but these are gonna cover at least safely getting your vehicle down the road. And starting on the vehicle side, we have our base plate, and this is gonna attach to the frame of the vehicle and create the structural mounting point for the rest of the components, and that's where our tow bar is gonna hook up to the arms. The tow bar is gonna be the physical connection between the hitch on the RV and the base plate on your towed vehicle. Now going along with it, just like towing a trailer, you're gonna have safety cables and those are gonna attach to the base plate as well as the hitch on the RV. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with Etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Roadmaster Direct-Connect base plate on our 2021 Chevrolet Blazer. Your base plate is going to be your main connection point for your tow bar to be able to connect to so you can flat tow your Blazer down the road. As you can see here, our base plate is going to be hidden behind the rear fascia, or behind the front fascia. You'll have your, these tabs here are removable so you won't see them whenever you're not flat towing your vehicle. The safety chain loops will stick out of the front fascia so that you can hook up to your safety chains. more

Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster Baseplate on a 2021 Toyota Tacoma. And this is what your baseplate is gonna look like when it's installed on your truck. And overall, it's a pretty clean look. It's exposed so you can see the entire thing across, but it sits underneath the front bumper well enough to where it has a pretty clean look overall. Now it does have a mounting point for your breakaway switch, as well as your six-pole, which is a nice added convenience. You won't have to worry about fabricating anything up there. more

Speaker We're rolling. Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the Blue Ox baseplate on a 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500. There's five required components when flat towing any vehicle, and on our Chevy 1500 today, we'll start by taking a look at the baseplate. And the baseplate is gonna mount to where the factory tow hooks were, or structurally to the frame of the vehicle, creating a mounting point for the rest of your components, and also your tow bar. Tow bar is your second component, and that is connecting point between the baseplate and the hitch on the RV. Now just like a trailer, we have our safety cables here that'll attach to the tabs on the baseplate that are gonna be your safety chain loops, and then you'll just attach those to the safety chain loops on your RV. more

Your five main components in order to flat tow your vehicle are going to be your tow bar, which is the direct connection between the motor home and your vehicle, the baseplate, which is going to be your physical connection to your vehicle, your diode wiring, which is going to give you your lighting signals at the back of your towed vehicle, the supplemental braking system, which helps to stop the vehicle behind the motor home so the motor home doesn't have to do all the work, and then finally, your safety cables. These are going to come into play in an unlikely disconnect. These will hold onto the vehicle so that you can come to a safe and slow stop. Adding a baseplate to the front of your GMC Sierra 1500 is going to allow you to flat tow it behind your motor home. more

Now, if you're new to flat towing, there are like five essential components that you need to start doing that, it'll be the tow bar itself, you'll need some safety cables. You'll need some sort of supplemental braking system. You're gonna need some sort of diode wiring to transmit the electrical signals back. Blue Ox Base Plate Kit Installation - 2019 Chevrolet Traverse- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the Blue Ox base plate on a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse. Now this is what your base plate is gonna look like when it's installed on your Traverse. And it does a pretty good job of making sure everything looks nice and tidy. Once installed, when you don't have your arms attached, it's pretty, almost flushed with the front of the fascia, which is really nice, it gives you a clean look. Your safety chain loops do stick out a little bit, but that's so you can hook onto them nice and easy. And the crossbar that they have will allow you to mount up your 6-pole as well as your breakaway switch on the opposite sides of the license plate, so you don't have to worry about anything getting in the way. more

Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit Installation - 2022 Mini Cooper- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at installing the Roadmaster base plate on our 2022 Mini Cooper S. Now there's five main components required for flat towing your Mini Cooper, and the first one is gonna be the base plate. That attaches to the structural point of the car, generally the frame or a bumper support. And that way you can have connection points to your tow bar, as well as some of your other components. And your tow bar is going to be the connection point between the hitch on the RV and the base plate on the vehicle. So that's what's really gonna be doing the heavy lifting to tow it down the road. more

Now, in addition to your base plate, you're gonna need four other main components in order to flat tow your Ram. The other ones are going to be your tow bar. You're gonna need something to connect the motorhome to the front of your truck. You'll need diode wiring, which is this coil here. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the etrailer Invisible Base Plate on our 2022 Jeep Gladiator. Before we get into it, we're gonna talk about the five main components that are involved in a flat tow in order to safely do it behind your motor home. The first is gonna be your base plate, which is going to mount on your vehicle. The second will be your tow bar, which connects the RV to the vehicle and you'll have your braking system, your supplemental braking system, which helps the vehicle stop behind the motor home so that the motor home doesn't have to do all the braking. You'll have your diode wiring, which transfers the lighting signals from your motor home to the back of your vehicle. more

This is Blue Ox's Base Plate Kit that we installed on our 2020 GMC Yukon XL. Now if you're interested in flat towing, the base plate is just one of a series of items that you need to be able to flat tow. The others you're gonna see right here, the tow bar, the diode wiring, the safety cables and then a supplemental braking system as well. Blue Ox Base Plate Kit Installation - 2019 Jeep Cherokee- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Blue Ox base plate on a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. Now, there's five main components required when flat towing a vehicle. and starting on the vehicle side, the first thing is gonna be the base plate and that's gonna attach to the frame of the vehicle or a structural part of the vehicle that's gonna allow you to attach the rest of the components and safely tow it down the road. Now, connected to the arms on our base plate is gonna be our tow bar and this is the connection point between the hitch on the RV and the towed vehicle. On our base plate we also have these loops for safety chains which is gonna be one of the components. So in case of a disconnect, you still have those chains holding onto the towed vehicle. more

Hello, neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster Base Plate on a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. Now this is what your base plate is gonna look like when installed on your Wrangler and overall it's a pretty clean look. You really only see the safety chain loops and the receptacles for the arms kind of going through our skid plate here. It also comes with a really nice bracket that allows us to bolt up our 6-pole as well as our breakaway switch. So overall, a pretty clean look. more
