Blue Ox Base Plate Kit Installation - 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Hi there, Jeep owners. Today in your 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Blue Ox's base plate. There are five main components you're going to need when hooking your vehicle to the back of your motor home. You'll need your base plate, which is the connection point for your tow bar. You'll need your tow bar, which is the connection between your vehicle and your motor home. You'll need your supplemental connection, which is your safety cables here which act in addition to your tow bar in the event of a catastrophic failure.You'll need your diode wiring, which takes all the lighting signals from your motor home and transfer them to the lights at the back of your vehicle as well as your braking system, which will help the vehicle come to a safe stop when you apply the brakes in your motor home. more

Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate Kit Installation - 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today in our 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee we're gonna be installing Roadmaster's EZ4 Base Plate Kit. Part number RM-521440-4.Now that you've got your base plate fully installed we've got everything else that we'll need to get our flat tow for our vehicle behind our motor home set up.We've got our tow bars, which is the connection point between your base plate and your motor home's hitch. We have our braking system. We have our wiring, which gives us all of our stop, turn and tail lamp signals from our motor home to our vehicle.And to be able to connect our tow bar to our base plate, we're using Roadmaster's Quick Disconnect Kit. It'll give you a secure point that'll allow your vehicle to be pulled behind your motor home.On each side there will be a location for your safety chain and a connection point. The sleeves here for your connection point can be disconnected by pulling the pin, rotating it and pulling it out and that'll just give you a cleaner look when you're not using your vehicle for flat tow.Additionally, your base plate has a mounting bracket for your wiring and for your break away switch. more

Best 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Base Plate Options- Video
Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the best base plate options for your 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. A base plate is going to be what you're going to connect your tow bar to so we can safely and securely flat tow our Jeep Grand Cherokee down the road. We're going to have a few different options. On the end here we're going to have our Roadmaster EZ5 or Direct-Connect base plate. In the middle here we'll have the Blue Ox, which is going to have removable arms. Then on the end we'll have our Demco, which is going to be the tabless base plate.Now if it we're me looking for a base plate, I would go with the Demco version for a few different reasons, but let's take a closer look at what all of these have to offer. more

Part number RM-521440-5.Keep in mind this is only going to be one component of your flat tow set up. For a complete and safe set up, you're going to need a tow bar wiring. And we use the Hopkins Universal taillight wiring kit for towed vehicles. A tow bar, and we use the Roadmaster NightHawk All Terrain 9 binding tow bar. more
