Blue Ox Base Plate Kit Installation - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today, on our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Blue Ox base plate kit with removable arms. So, here's what our base plate's gonna look like once we have it installed on our Jeep Grand Cherokee. And this is gonna provide us a secure attachment point for our tow bar to hook up to whenever we're flat towing. And you can see that most of the brackets are gonna be hidden on the front of our Jeep. And when we're not towing, we can come to the tab, we can pull on the pull ring, rotate the tab, and we're gonna remove it. That way, it's a lot more cleaner look, and it's a lot more hidden. more

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the best base plate options for your 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. A base plate is going to be what you're going to connect your tow bar to so we can safely and securely flat tow our Jeep Grand Cherokee down the road. We're going to have a few different options. On the end here we're going to have our Roadmaster EZ5 or Direct-Connect base plate. In the middle here we'll have the Blue Ox, which is going to have removable arms. Then on the end we'll have our Demco, which is going to be the tabless base plate.Now if it we're me looking for a base plate, I would go with the Demco version for a few different reasons, but let's take a closer look at what all of these have to offer. more

Offers a nice clean look when not in use, it's nice and tucked in in the bumper fascia, doesn't stick out too far. It also has a black powder coat finish to resist any rusting or corrosion.When it comes time to use your base plate, when you're getting ready to tow, simply take your removable arms, pull your pin, slide it into place, twist until it locks in.
