Now, folks, this heavy-duty coupler will let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle, and then provide a connection point for your hitch ball. It's very ideal for utility trailers, livestock trailers, cargo trailers, construction trailers. And it's got this nice, what they call a Slide-Lok design. You simply take the pin out, and you can pull this collar down, and it's locking as it slides up, holding this spring-actuated lever. more

Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Demco Slide-Lok adjustable trailer coupler. So, this one's for your two-inch ball. So you just definitely wanna make sure that's the ball that you plan on using and you don't wanna overload your trailer, 'cause this is gonna have a capacity of 7,000 pounds. One thing that's best with these style couplers, the slide locks, is just for off-road purposes. So, I have it on my horse trailer, so a lot of times when we go riding, we go kind of off the grid a little bit, with the correct ball size if we put this in and then snap it into place like that. As you can see, we have a lot of play right here which is good because with a standard coupler our little lip is gonna hit a lot sooner. more

etrailers.com: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a look at the Demco Slide Lock Trailer Coupler. So this allows you to have a nice secure trailer coupler on your hitch ball. So you can attach this to your trailer and it has a unique locking mechanism, so let's take a look at that, and make sure that this is going to be the right fit for you, and your application. So you can see it's a nice cast construction, it is a zinc plated steel, so it's going to be sturdy, but also corrosion resistant. To operate it, you're just going to pull the pin and clip out of place, they are attached on there, there's a little spot where they're linked to that coupler so you can't lose that, so it's something that I like to see, and then to open this up or to unlock it, you're going to pull back this collar.You do want to watch your fingers though, because it is spring-loaded, so just pull back on that. more

Here's what our coupler's going to look like once we have it installed. There's a few different reasons why you might want to replace your coupler that's existing on your trailer, for us, we actually picked up our trailer used and it had a lunette ring and that's not what we have on our truck, so we wanted to match everything up using a ball mount so that we can hook up to our truck without changing too many things.Another reason why you might want to replace the coupler, is if you have a traditional style coupler like here, those use a wedge to go right up against the ball. As I lift up the handle, you can kind of see it moving on there. more

Today we're going to take a look at the Curt channel mount squeeze latch coupler, designed to fit a 2 and 5/16ths diameter ball and has 15,000 pound weight capacity.Now, this coupler is compatible with the Curt adjustable channel brackets that we do sell separately on our website. They're part number C48610 and C48650. Both of those brackets are listed on this product page as a related product. Now, this is secured by the demo bolt mounting system. It is a channel mount design, so it does allow for nice, easy height adjustment. Basically, you take these bolts out, slide this into your adjustable channel mount, put your bolts in the holes, and you have a multitude of holes that you could raise or lower this coupler to get your correct height for your application.It is a nice, easy lock latching system. more

Today we are going to take a look at the Bulldog cast head coupler for a 2 5/16 diameter ball with the adjustable three position channel and this has a 14,000 pound weight capacity.Now this heavy duty coupler is ideal for utility, livestock, cargo, and construction trailers. It does use this wedge style latch, which is secure and very easy to use, has a release down here that will release it and then you just lift the latch all the way up to open it.I happened to pull here's a 2 5/16 diameter hitch ball, and you can see that the coupler will go right over the ball and then you release it, and then the little latch at the bottom will hold it into place. Now there is a hole in the latch here that you could actually put a coupler lock through there for extra security if you prefer, and then to release it just pull up again to release the handle, lift up on the latch, and it will remove it right from the coupler just like that.Now the channel bracket, right here, this can be bolted to or welded to the trailer. You can see it is a three different position channel bracket. It does give you a four inch adjustable height when you put the coupler here. Now, the coupler will mount to this adjustable channel bracket and this is the mounting hardware that is included that will attach the coupler to the channel.So again, if we just line the holes up, find the correct hole, slide it all the way through, just like that, and then slide the other bolt all the way through. more

And when the hitch ball contacts this area here, it'll push that latch mechanism up and it'll automatically engage.Now if you want to pin this in the open position, all you got to go is lift up, take the pin that we removed and place it right there and it'll hold it in the open position as well. So the latch can be pinned open for ease of uncoupling with the included pin and to secure it in the down or lock position, you make sure that engages all the way down and then you place the pin through the pin holes and secure it in place with the clip. more
