Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today, we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster 12-Volt Outlet Kit on a 2020 Chevrolet Spark. Now this 12-Volt Outlet Kit is a great way to be able to run a 12-volt power source to something like a mobile braking system like we have here on our Blue Ox Patriot. This vehicle does require the battery to be disconnected while in flat tow mode, but you still need that 12-volt outlet to be able to get power to the braking system. So we ran this separate one here, making it easy to plug in, and also run directly to the battery. So even when the battery's disconnected, you still have that power going to your braking system. more

Kevin So this RV charging center is gonna be a great way to power your electronics, charge your phone, run any 12 volt appliance that you have, maybe you have a Furrion or a Voyager RV camera system and you've set it up to be wired for observation and you want to use your monitor inside of your RV or your camper. Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit here on a 2019 Buick Envision. So our 12 Volt Outlet Kit is gonna be required when we're using a portable braking system on our flat towed vehicle. Now a portable braking system is one such as the Blue Ox Patriot. It's gonna sit inside the driver foot well there and press on the pedal, using bracing from the back of the seat. And the reason we need a 12 Volt outlet kit for this braking system, is that the 12 Volt outlet in the center console there of the vehicle, is actually not powered while it's in tow mode. So I'm sure you've probably looked in there, found that and wondering why you need this kit if you could just simply plug your braking system into that. more

A 12-volt outlet kit is going to give you a 12-volt source to power any of your accessories. And oftentimes, when you're setting up a vehicle for flat tow, the 12-volt outlets that are on your vehicle may only have power when you're. Got your vehicle running and you're driving it, but when you placed it into flat tow mode, they're no longer powered up, which does limit the braking systems that are available to you. If you're planning on using a portable system that requires a 12-volt outlet, you're going to need one that's powered all the time, even when you're flat towing, to operate that system.We put one on our Envision here today just for that reason, so they can use their Blue Ox Patriot braking system, and that's probably the most common application for this 12-volt outlet. more

Rob: Hey everybody. It's Rob here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster 12-volt outlet kit on our 2020 Silverado. Now one of the reasons why you may want a 12-volt outlet kit, is if you want to flat tow your Silverado because once you start doing some research, you'll find out real quickly that your Silverado is going to have to have the battery disconnected or at least have the power cut off to flat tow it. And it's all fine and good, but if we have the power cut off, there's no way to get power to our braking system especially if it's a portable system. The outlet kit is going to allow you to get that power even with the truck off.Right now we have our truck with the battery disconnected and you can see, it's not getting any kind of power, the dome light's not on and my ignition's not coming on. more

This is Jeff at etrailer.com.Today, we're going to take a look at the 12 Volt Accessory Plug and Socket Kit.Now this part will include this female accessory socket with the male plug which when you plug that in, will provide 12 volt DC power. It is a nice universal vehicle 12 volt connection. Does use nickel plating and phosphor bronze terminal material with a polycarbonate plastic housing to help resist corrosion.If you notice on the female socket, includes this nice rubber weather flap that you can put on there when you're not plugged in. That helps protect the terminals from any damage or from the elements. And it comes with the two mounting screws to install it.Does have the two pins on the back of the socket for your power connection and on the male connection, again, you just open your cap, slide that in, that'll make your connection. more

Shane: Hi, I'm Shane with etrailer.com. Today I'm going to walk you through how I installed Roadmaster's 12 volt outlet kit on your 2020 Jeep Gladiator. The 12 volt outlet kit is going to give you an extra plug inside the vehicle. What we typically install them for is for portable braking systems. On something like the Jeep Gladiator where there's no power inside, and you can't use the factory 12 volt plug or 12 volt outlet, this is going to give you that extra power that's going to come straight from the battery, so when you put your portable braking system in, simply plug it in and your portable braking systems are going to have power.To run it is very simple. Hey everyone. I'm Ellen Harry at etrailer.com, and today we're taking a quick look at the charging port with a 12 volt socket. It also has a cap to keep out any dirt, dust and debris, any water. So it's going to be our charging space so we can get any kind of accessories like our maybe compressor or small appliances charged up with that 12 volt port. It does have a metal ground nut, so this is also going to be the mounting nut and our ground connection. We can link our ground connection to that. more

Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at inaudible dot com today we're taking a quick look at the 12 volt socket charging port. So this is going to let you charge all of your 12 volt accessories, things that use that kind of cigarette lighter charging piece. So things like your air compressors, some other accessories, maybe a toaster or other stuff that might run off of that type of plug. So you can install this in your RV on your boat, any off-road vehicles to utilize that power.So it comes with a little nut ring, and this can just be easily removed since the socket has these flat sides on either side of it and our nut just has the threads on two sides as well. So if you match that up with those flat sides, you can just push it up and then turn it maybe a quarter or half turn to get that all tightened down.The plastic construction that is durable enough to withstand years of service. more

Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and today we're taking a look at the charging port. This has two USB ports or outlets for you to charge up any of your accessories that utilize that USB port, which is most accessories these days, things like tablets, mobile phones and GPS trackers, stuff like that. So you'll be able to mount this to your wall in your RV or your boat, anywhere that you need to have that extra port to charge your accessories.It's going to come with just the port and then this little attachment ring to get that installed. So if you're putting this into a backing plate, easiest way I've found to do it, the threads on this little ring are just in two spots, so right where the little tabs are. So if you line those up with the flat spot on there, you can just push that up and then turn it about a quarter turn and then it's going to be tightened down or turn about a quarter turn until it's tight. more

Now you just get one of the two colors but I just wanted to show you them side by side so they are available or it is available in white or black. All the other functions are going to be the same, just a different color options there to kind of match with your different interior styles so you can pick whichever one suits you better.But basically we'll have our 12 volt plug there so it's going to be that 12 volt socket to charge things like a tire inflator, maybe a vacuum coffee maker or other accessory that uses that 12 volt cylinders kind of cigarette common to your or looks like your old school cigarette lighter attachments, that kind of cylinder attachment.And then we also have the USB ports as well so you can charge things like your phone, tablet, GPS and other things that utilize that USB, which is pretty universal at this point. At the back, we'll have our connections to make, so our 12 volt socket is going to have some wiring to do and then we'll have the two terminals that we'll need to connect for our USB charger or excuse me other way around of our socket that has the two terminals to connect to and then our USB ports will be charged or powered by the two cords there. more

This allows you to have a 12 volt port coming off of any kind of battery with these two alligator clamps. These are just going to attach to your positive and negative terminals on your battery and then give you that 12 volt connection.This is going to be used for camping applications. If you're out maybe emergency where you just need to charge your phone, something like that where you just need to have a quick connection just temporarily to a battery, maybe on your vehicle or a standalone battery, maybe it's a bit on your boat.
