SportRack 3 Bike Rack Review - 2009 Nissan Murano- Video

Today on our 2009 Nissan Murano we're going to be test fitting the SportRack folding and tilting 3-Bike Rack. It's designed for use in both inch and a quarter and two inch hitches. It's part number is SR2403. We're going to do our test fit in real time so you have a realistic idea of how long it takes you to actually get your bike on your rack after it's installed. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we slide this in, we'll have an option of one or two holes. We're going to use the furthest one away from the rack to give us the most clearance. more

We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tighten it down with a wrench. Go With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 14 1/2" of ground clearance. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 2 1/2" away, and we've added about 7" to the overall length of our Nissan. We can now remove the black pin on the top of the mast and swing the cradle arms out. With the cradle arms out, we've added about 24" to the overall length of our Rouge. To access the cargo area, we'll need to remove the black pin and clip at the base of the bike rack and tilt down the mast. more

Today on our 2014 Nissan Rogue we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow 'n Go 3-Bike Rack, part number HR135. Today we'll be using the ball mount with an extra long shank, part number 80232. Keep in mind the ball mount and hitch ball are sold separately. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the ball mount into the opening of the hitch. We'll then go ahead and line up the pin holes and secure it with a standard 5/8 hitch pin and clip. You'll notice since the ball mount is secured with only a hitch pin, there is some wobble within the hitch which may cause the back of the bike rack to hit the rear of the vehicle. more

With our mast back in its upright position, we'll now pull the pin and the clip at the top of the rack. more

For today's test fit, we'll be using the Hidden Hitch ball mount with an extra long shank, part number 80232. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the ball mount into the receiver tube of our hitch, lining up our pin holes, sliding through a pin, and securing it with a clip. Now please keep in mind the ball mount, the pin and clip, and the hitch ball are all sold separately. As you can see, using the standard pin and clip does leave some play in our bike rack. If you'd like to secure it further, we do have anti-rattle devices. Just check our website for some more details. Now it's time to swing out our dual cradle arms. more

Today, on our 2014 Nissan Pathfinder, we'll be test-fitting the Pro Rack hitch-mounted hanging four-bike rack for 1 1/4" and 2" hitches, part number PR8062404. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tighten it down using a wrench, and then secure it with a clip on either side. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 10 1/2" of ground clearance. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 6" away, and we've added about 34" to the overall length of our Pathfinder. To access the cargo area, we can remove the silver pin and clip at the base of the bike rack, and tilt the mast of the rack downward. As you can see, we can easily gain access to the rear hatch. To load up a bike, we'll make sure the mast of the bike rack is in its upright position. After reinstalling the pin and clip, we'll simply undo the hook and loop straps, place our bike into the frame cradles, and then secure it with the straps. With our bike all loaded up, that'll complete today's test fit of the Pro Rack four-bike rack, part number PR8062404, on our 2014 Nissan Pathfinder. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Nissan Rogue- Video

Today on our 2013 Nissan Rogue, we'll be test fitting a Thule Hitching Post Pro, part number TH934XTR. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. We'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt and then tighten it down using a wrench. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a couple clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 13-3/4 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 5-1/2 inches away, and we've added about 12 inches to the overall length of our Nissan. We can now pull the gold pin at the top of the mast to swing the cradle arms out. more

Hollywood Racks Traveler Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Nissan Rogue- Video

Today on our 2013 Nissan Rogue, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler hitch mounted four bike rack, part number HR8500. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch, while threading the anti-rattle bolts and tighten it down using a wrench. With the bike rack secured, we'll go ahead and swing out our dual arms. We'll remove the pin at the top of the mast and swing out the cradle arms, re-securing it with the pin. To access the cargo area, we can pull the pin at the base of the carrier and tilt the mast down. As you can see, we can easily gain access to the rear hatch. To load up a bike, we'll make sure the mast is in its upright position. We'll undo the cradle straps, place our bike into the frame cradles, and then secure it with the straps. With our bike all loaded up, that'll complete today's test fit of the Hollywood Racks Traveler, part number HR8500, on our 2013 Nissan Rogue. . more

Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow n Go Bike Rack Review - 2013 Nissan Rogue- Video

Today on our 2013 Nissan Rogue, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow and Go Hitch Mounted three bike carrier, part number HR135. For today's test fit we'll be using the hidden hitch ball mount with an extra long shank, part number 80232. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the ball mount into the opening of the hitch, we'll then secure it with the pin and clip. Keep in mind, the ball mount, the pin and clip and the hitch ball are all sold separately. To load up a bike, we'll pull out the black pin in the top of the mast and swing the cradle arms out. With the cradle arms out, we'll go ahead and undo the cradle straps and place our bike into the frame cradles. Now with our bike all loaded up. more

Today on our 2010 Nissan Altima, we'll be test fitting the Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack for both 1-1/4-inchand 2-inch hitches, part number TH990XT. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up the pin hole, and install our anti-rattle bolt. We'll tighten with a wrench and then secure it with a lock on the other side. Now, we'll go over some key measurements. We have about 8 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the Doubletrack to the closest part of our Altima is about 1 inch. With the Doubletrack in the folded position, we've added 8 inches to the overall length of our Altima. Now, we'll go ahead and pull the switch at the base of the Doubletrack and tilt the mast down. We'll undo our cradle straps, lift up the center mast, and put the frame hooks to the top of the mast to prepare to load our bike.With our rack unfolded, we've added 27 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. Then, we'll place our bike into the wheel trays and secure it first with the frame hooks. more
