Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Ford Maverick KU76ZR- Video
Hi, everyone. Aiden here at "Etrailer." Today we're gonna be taking a look at our Kuat Piston Pro two bike rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2022 Ford Maverick. This is gonna be a platform style hitch-mounted bike rack capable of carrying up to two bikes, each up to 67 pounds. So it is gonna be e-bike friendly. This uses a dual wheel mount design, meaning that it holds a bike by both tires and makes no frame contact, making this a great option for our carbon frame and alternative frame bikes because we're not relying on that frame to hold the bike. It does a really good job at holding the bike in pretty solid. more

Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have the Kuat Transfer V2 Three-Bike Platform Rack. We'll take a look at how it fits our 2023 Hyundai Palisade. So the Transfer V2 is a popular rack because it is a Kuat Transfer Rack, which many people like for its design as well as stability, but this is gonna be a more entry level, but also with a unique feature where you can make it easier for you to load and unload your bikes. There are some downsides to this rack though especially with the Hyundai Palisade. For example, the Palisade does have a large hatch and the Transfer has a pretty shallow level of tilt away. So if I needed to tilt the bike rack away and I wanted to get into the hatch, notice here that with only one bike loaded, I can put these arms off to the side. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Ford Ranger- Video
Hey everybody, Cooper here at etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination E on our 2021 Ford Ranger. The Destination E is going to be a platform style bike rack able to accommodate up to two bikes, with a very impressive weight capacity of up to 70 pounds, which means that we're going to be able to carry our heavy electric E-bikes which is kind of the main draw, and a lot of the features are built around that idea here with the Hollywood Racks Destination E. As we can see, our main point of contact is going to be on the frame here. So unfortunately, our carbon frame bikes are not really going to be an option available for this rack. But depending on your alternative frame bike, you might be able to adjust the knob to clamp on or if you get some sort of bike adapter part, we could easily accommodate for that. more

RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Ford Ranger- Video
Hey everybody, Cooper here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the RockyMounts GuideRail on our 2021 Ford Ranger. Now the GuideRail is going to be a platform-style bike rack, with a individual weight capacity for 60 pounds per bike, which is really nice, meaning that our heavier bikes and our electric bikes are going to be an option for this rack. Our two main points of contact are also two ratcheting arms one for the front wheel and one for the back wheel, meaning we are making no frame contact, which also means that our carbon frame bikes and our alternative frame bikes are going to be an option for this rack too. So the amount of different bikes that this rack can carry is a big diverse amount, but how does it really operate with our Ranger Well, the GuideRail has a tilt-away feature that if we pull this handle right here, it'll actually tilt down. And surprisingly enough, with our Ranger here, we can actually lower our tailgate and it does not make any contact. more

Now the first thing we do wanna show you in what makes the AfterParty such a unique bike rack is the included swing away feature on it. So as we come down here to the bottom there is going to be this knob that after we loosen up a little bit Oh, there we go. And then we unthread. It will allow us to go ahead and pull an additional knob here on the top and then the whole entire rack will swing away from our vehicle. more

And our two main points of contact are going to be our front wheel hook and a back strap, meaning we're not making any of that frame contact. The MonoRail does have some really cool features, such as a tilt away, which is engaged by a handle right here towards the back and then lets you just slowly tilt our rack away from our Ranger. more

Hey, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have the Yakima OnRamp Two Bike Platform Rack. We're gonna take a look at how this fits our 2017 Chevrolet Traverse. The main thing about this bike rack is, it was redesigned for electric bikes. It has a 66-pound per bike weight capacity plus it has a ramp included on the rack. So other bike racks usually have ramps that need to be stored inside your car. This one is stored on the rack itself so that way you know you're less likely to lose it. more

Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Nissan Titan- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima FullTilt hanging style bike rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2023 Nissan Titan. This is gonna be a hanging style rack, that can support up to five bikes. They are adjustable, so these cradles that actually hold the bikes in, can be moved back and forth along the arms to adjust for spacing. And because it's a hanging style bike rack there are gonna be a few limitations to keep in mind right out of the gate. Carbon frame is gonna be a no-go, because it is hanging by the frame, so frame contact isn't gonna be good for those. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Nissan Titan- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination E-bike Rack, and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2023 Nissan Titan. This is going to be a platform style bike rack aimed at carrying e-bikes. It has a 70 pound weight capacity per bike, so, good at carrying some of the heavier e-bikes and it's going to work great with bikes that have alternative frames, fenders, things like that because of the way it holds onto the bike. Three wheel straps at the bottom, pull it down and in, and also, keep that front tire from pivoting, but then, the frame clamp up top can rotate around 360 degrees to adapt to those alternative frames. And because we're not relying on wheel hooks for contact, it's fender friendly. more

Now, as far as hanging-style bike racks are concerned, the FullTilt is actually one of my personal favorite options, and that's because of all the features they're able to pack inside of it that we're gonna be able to take a look at as the video goes on. But, the first thing we wanna make sure we know is what kind of bikes can we carry. Well, the FullTilt's main point of contact is going to be on our frame, so that means, unfortunately, our carbon frame bikes are not going to be an option for this. If you do have an alternative frame bike, though, and do get a bike adapter bar, we are able to accommodate for those, as well as kids' bikes. more

Curt Premium 4 Bike Rack Review - 2021 Nissan Rogue- Video
Hi everyone, Aidan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Curt Premium four-bike rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2021 Nissan Rogue. This is gonna be a hanging style bike rack that holds the bike by the frame hanging down below the arms. There's three main points of contact to make this work all in the form of these stretchy rubber straps that hold the bike frame down into the cradles, with that third one being around the side here, limiting our side to side movement and helping with bike to bike contact. One thing I'll point out right away with the Nissan Rogue is that the whole rack sits very close to the vehicle. And that also means that this inner bike sits close to the vehicle. more

What we're gonna have here is a platform style bike rack able to accommodate up to two bikes individually weight rated at 35 pounds each which means unfortunately our heavier e-bikes are not going to be available for this rack. We're going to have three main points of contact, a rubber strap on our front and back tire as well as a center mast making frame contact here as our main point. So unfortunately, our carbon frame bikes are not going to be an option either. One really nice thing is though that our main point of contact on our center mast here does move up and down while also having the ability to rotate, meaning that we can accommodate most alternative frame bikes. more

Thule EasyFold XT 2 Electric Bike Rack Review - 2020 Infiniti QX50- Video
Hi everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we have the Thule Easyfold bike rack and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2020 Infiniti QX50. This is a premium rack with a bunch of premium features. You can tilt it away, you have a ramp included and it folds up to be more compact when storing in your garage or when you're on the road. So we'll talk about those features but it also has some downsides like it doesn't fold up, up against your vehicle. You still have a lot of length added to the back of you and also it does take a little bit of time to take the bikes off and put them back on. more

Malone RunWay 2-Bike Platform Rack Review - 2021 Nissan Rogue- Video
Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, we have the Malone Runway 2-Bike Platform Rack, and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2021 Nissan Rogue. So the owner of this vehicle actually got this bike rack, because they're looking for something that is lightweight where they can easily lift it up and into their hitch receiver, but also, is affordable, so that's definitely where this sits. Now, you do have some pros and cons with this type of bike rack, like it does take a little bit more work to its features like tilt it away and fold it up, and we're gonna focus on that, focusing on the Nissan Rogue. There are two length settings for this bike rack, we have it at the furthest out setting, and even then, we still have a little bit of a close call when it comes to mountain bikes. So if you have long handlebars, this is something you have to be mindful of as the bike rack shifts around. If you need to tilt the bike rack away with the bike on, this does tilt away. more

Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Winnebago Forza Motorhome- Video

So the MHS is gonna be great if you need to carry around extra heavy electric bikes, but also bikes of different shapes and sizes. Plus you want something that's easy to use. A lot of the RV rated bike racks have a lot of different levers, and handles, and straps that you have to deal with. This one makes it a lot more simple, but still has that RV capacity. more

Because we are holding onto them by their frame, that means our carbon frame bikes unfortunately are not gonna be a great fit for this. However, because of the tapering off here at the edge, we are able to accommodate some kids' bikes. more

Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, we have the Yakima StageTwo 2-Bike Platform Rack and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. So the StageTwo is definitely gonna be your heavy-duty, off-road bike rack, but also, with a really good weight capacity for heavy electric bikes. Now, talking about that though, we do have this on our Jeep Wrangler with a large spare tire, so what I had to do was I had to put a hitch extension, that way, the bike rack would sit further back and I'd be able to put it on that hitch receiver. So if you want to use a bike rack, you may need to get a hitch extension too, we have some options here at etrailer. The downside of those hitch extensions is it reduces your tongue weight capacity, and you're gonna have to get a special anti-rattle for it to be secure. But with all that in mind, let's focus on this StageTwo bike rack. more

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at Etrailer and today we have the Yakima EXO system. So we currently have the double up bike rack and the enclosed cargo carrier, which is the gear locker. We'll take a look at how this system fits our 2021 Subaru Outback wagon. This setup is great if you're going for a big adventure, you're going to riding, need a bike rack that can carry your bikes different shapes and sizes. But you also need some cargo space for your helmets, your gear, your shoes, maybe your tents. This is a great way to store all of that. more

RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Hey everybody, Cooper here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Rockymounts Afterparty on our 2021 Jeep Wrangler. Now to get in directly why we want this for the Jeep Wrangler and why this is such a good recommendation is the Rockymounts Afterparty actually comes with a swing away function. We found that most of our bike racks that have a tilt don't have enough an aggressive enough tilt to really open up on the hatch. So this swing way function is essentially going to help us correct that. Down here at the bottom of the rack, we do have this knob that when we loosen up, we are going to be able to pull a pin that is on the passenger side and go ahead and pull this away while also pivoting it. more

Yakima FullTilt 5 Bike Rack Review - 2023 Honda CR-V- Video
Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima FullTilt hanging style bike rack and seeing how it fits on this 2023 Honda CR-V. With this being a hanging style rack, it's gonna hold the bike by the frame with the rest of the bike kind of hanging down below it. That's where it gets its name. This one holds it in place with two zip strips up top. That's gonna be the straps that ratchet in and hold it down into the cradles with the third one on the seat post limiting our side to side movement. more

RockyMounts GuideRail Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2023 Honda CR-V- Video
Cooper here at etrailer and today we're gonna be taking a look at our RockyMounts GuideRail on our 2023 Honda CR-V. Our bike rack is going to be a two-platform style bike rack, individually rated for 60 pounds each, meaning that our e-bikes are going to fit on it. As well as you can tell, there is no frame contact, which means that our carbon frame bikes, as well as our alternative frame bikes, are going to fit very well onto this rack. One of the really cool features about the GuideRail is it actually has a tilt-away feature. So holding onto our blue lever here, just holding onto our bike for a little extra security, we are able to tilt this away, allowing us access into our trunk. So that way we have our bike shoes back here, our helmets, maybe a water bottle or something. more

Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have the Yakima FullTilt five bike hanging rack and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2021 Jeep Wrangler. So the Yakima FullTilt is the bike rack I would get if I had to get a hanging rack but I wanted one of the best ones. This is what I would get. It does have a lot of premium features that make it easier for you to load the bikes up, secure the bikes. And the downside though, is that even though it tilts away like its name says, with the Jeep Wrangler not really any hanging bike can tilt back far enough for you to reasonably open up that door. So with that in mind, if you wanted full door access, I'd recommend getting something like a hitch extender or a swing away hitch extender. more

So the RidgeBack is a tried and true bike rack. It's been around for a while. It does have the ability to carry up to five bikes if you get the five bike version. So if I wanted a hanging rack and I wanted to carry around a lot of bikes more than I could with a platform rack, but I also didn't wanna take up as much space as a platform rack would, this would be one of my options. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Hello everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today I have the Thule T2 Pro XTR two-bike platform rack and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2021 Jeep Wrangler. So the T2 Pro XTR, other than having a long name, does have some premium features that help out with carrying your bikes safely and securely. You have a good weight capacity of 60 pounds per bike, but I am using this bike rack with a hitch extender and that's because when we have that spare tire on, we have it folded up, it gets a little too close and we're not getting as good of a fit which is why we have an extender to push this out. Most of your bike racks with a Jeep Wrangler with a spare tire are going to need some kind of hitch extender if you want full use out of them. But having that extender has its downsides as well, like less hitch tongue weight capacity and it has a bit more movement if you don't get one with an anti-rattle feature. So with that in mind, let's focus on the features of the T2 Pro XTR. more

Saris Freedom Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, I have the Saris Freedom 2-Bike Platform Rack, we'll take a look at how it fits our 2021 Jeep Wrangler. So the Saris Freedom is actually a really good fit with the Wrangler, because the spares tire limits the options for bike racks if you do not wanna use a hitch extender. So this sits pretty far back past its shank, which gives us that clearance to carry those two bikes. And if you wanna compare this with some other racks, well, this is gonna be on the still more affordable side while having a good weight capacity for electric bikes and some versatility for different sized and shaped bikes. So if you have say a large mountain bike and maybe a smaller road bike, this actually will work even better for you compared to the Saris SuperClamp, because this can go wherever while the SuperClamp wheel mounts are limited to each other. Now, focusing here on our Jeep, while we do have that clearance to add the bike on, we don't have as much clearance for things like tilting it away or opening up the door. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today I have the Hollywood Racks Destination E two bike platform rack for your electric bikes. And we'll take a look at how it fits our 2021 Jeep Wrangler. So the Destination E is really designed for electric bikes where you have an included ramp. Although the ramp's not attached to the rack you gotta keep it inside your vehicle and it has other features like adjustability for different types of frames. The downside though is that with how it fits on the Wrangler, it does not tilt down anywhere close to where you can open up the door. So the issue isn't the tilt, the issue is where this mast sits. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro hitch-mounted bike rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2021 Jeep Wrangler. It is gonna be a hanging style bike rack, capable of carrying up to four bikes and up to 35 pounds each, so a pretty good amount for most of our mountain bikes, road bikes. Just be mindful of it whenever you're loading it up that you don't exceed that. And a couple other limitations with it, because of the hanging rack and it makes contact with the frame of our bike, it's not gonna be the best fit for carbon frame bikes. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 platform style bike rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2020 21, excuse me, Jeep Wrangler. Now one thing I wanna point out right out of the gate is that we are using this with a hitch extender. The bike rack just wasn't working without the hitch extender so what that is, it's just an extra piece that attaches in your hitch and extends it further from the vehicle. You can see it right down there. We're using the etrailer one right now and we're using about an eight inch extension. more
