Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan we'll be installing the CURT class two 1-1/4" receiver tube hitch, part number C12264. Now here's what our hitch will look like once it's installed. As you can see, the body of the hitch is hidden behind the rear bumper or fascia. The hitch is a full steel and welded construction with a square cross tube for a real heavy duty design. This is our class two 1-1/4" receiver tube hitch with our 1/2" pre-drilled hole. It has a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds and a tongue weight capacity of 350 pounds. more

Today on our 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan we'll be installing Hidden Hitch class three 2" receiver tube hitch, part number 87719. Now as you can see it's got a sturdy steel construction with a nice black powder-coated finish. Everything's kept nicely underneath the bumper so it doesn't stick out, with the exception of our receiver tube to make it nice and easy and accessible. This is our class three hitch. Has a tongue weight capacity of 350 pounds and a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds. When added with a weight distribution hitch we can go up to 400 pounds of tongue weight and 4,000 pounds of towing capability. Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan - Curt- Video
Today, on this 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to install part number 13389 from Curt. This is what the hitch looks like once installed on the van, from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outside of the bumper will be about 4 inches and from top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be about 13 inches. Our first step to install our hitch, is remove three, 10 millimeter bolts just behind your rear spring shackle. These bolts will be located between the spring shackle and the bumper and the next bolt above the spring, we'll have to remove that one as well. Now, we're done with the driver side. We'll go ahead and repeat the same process over on the passenger side. With all of our hardware removed, we can go ahead and start installing the hitch. We'll take the tab and put it over the spring back by the axle. more

Here's what our hitch looks like installed on our vehicle. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost edge of the bumper is approximately 4 inches. From the top of the opening in the receiver to the ground is approximately 13.5 inches. Now let's go ahead and install our hitch. We'll first need to remove one bolt from three different exhaust hangers to lower the exhaust down out of the way to give us access to the two bolts here on the passenger side. The size sockets that you'll need to remove all of the hardware are 13mm to remove the three bolts that hold the exhaust up in place at the hangers. more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan we'll be installing the Draw-Tite one and a quarter inch receiver hitch, part number 36455. This is what our hitch will look like once installed. Next we're going to give you a couple of measurements to assist you in selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most edge of the bumper is six inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is thirteen and a quarter inches. This will assist you in selecting accessories such as a bike rack or cargo carrier. Now I'll go ahead with installation. First we'll go ahead and lower the exhaust so we can easily access the frame rail on the passenger side. To lower the exhaust, we'll remove the two fasteners that secure the hangers to the body of the vehicle. First we'll remove the fastener that secures the hanger just forward of the rear muffler, behind the axle. Then we'll go ahead and remove the fastener securing the hanger just forward of the rear axle. Now with both fasteners out of the way it'll allow the exhaust to come down and we can gain access to the frame rail on the passenger side. We'll have a total of four attachment points. These attachment points will be weld nuts built into the frame by the manufacturer and we'll actually already have hardware in these weld nuts that we'll be reusing to secure the hitch. Next, we can go ahead and remove the fasteners in the frame rail. Starting at the end of the frame rail, we'll remove the first and second fasteners. more

To the center of the pin hitch hole to the outermost point of the bumper is 6-3/4. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 12-3/4, now lets go ahead with the installation. Before we install our hitch we are going to want to lower the exhaust to give ourselves some more working room on the passengers side. To lower the exhaust, I am just going to remove the exhaust hanger bolts. more

From the center of the pin hitch hole to the outer most point of the bumper is 6-3/4, from the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 12-3/4. Now lets go ahead with the installation, before we even install our hitch we are going to want to lower the exhaust to give ourselves some more working room on the passengers side. To lower the exhaust Im just going to remove the exhaust hanger bolts. We will do the forward hanger just behind the muffler on the tail pipe. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today on this 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan we are going to install part number 87451 from Hidden Hitch. This will also apply to part number 75579 from Draw-Tite. The first thing we need to do is lower the exhaust over on the passenger side and there are two hangers that we need to undo. There is one right here behind the muffler and there is one farther up past the axle by the main muffler. All you have got to do is unbolt right here. Now you can see the two attaching points in the passenger side here. We are going to use this bolt and this bolt right next to this line. On the driver side is going to use all three bolts shown here. Lets start removing the bolts. We will start with the bolts closest to the bumper and work our way back. 00:52 more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today on this 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan we will be installing hitch part number 36455 from Draw-Tite. This hitch application also applies to Hidden Hitch part number 90169. The first thing you want to do is get underneath the vehicle and lower the exhaust off its rear most hanger here on the passenger side. To remove it off of its hanger you want to just spray the stud here down with a spray lubricant like a WD-40. And then we can just use a crowbar and kind of get behind there to pry it off. And with the exhaust off of its hanger you can kind of pull it out of the way here. With the exhaust pulled out of the way you can see we have two existing bolts here in the frame. Those are going to provide our two attaching points for our trailer hitch on both sides of the vehicle. more
