Detail K2 20x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video

Today on our 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Detail K2 Cargo Carrier. This cargo carrier is going to be 20 inches wide by 60 inches long, have a 2-inch shank for your 2-inch receivers only and a nice folding shank as well and platform that's going to fold up nicely against the back side of your vehicle. This is going to be part number K2HCC602. Again, that's K2HCC602. It's going to have that nice expanded metal platform as well that's going to make it so it's easily cleanable, if you're going to have any sort of fresh game or perishable items on the back. Also, it's going to have that nice, sturdy, steel construction that's going to offer a 500-pound weight capacity. Let's start off by getting a few measurements. Hollywood Racks Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video

Today on our 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to be doing a test fit of a Hollywood Racks cargo carrier. This is going to be for your Hollywood Racks SE and SE2 bike racks, but it can also be a stand-alone cargo carrier. If you're going to be carrying it with your bikes and on the back of your bike rack, it's going to have a 90 pound weight capacity. If you're going to be carrying it as a stand-alone item, it's going to have a 220 pound weight capacity. Curt 24x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video

Today on our 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee we're going to be doing a test fit of the CURT cargo carrier, part number C18153. This is going to be your 24" wide by 60" cargo carrier with a sturdy steel construction and a 500 pound weight capacity. It's going to have that nice expanded metal base for easy cleanability, as well as that nice folding shank that's going to stow it up and against the vehicle for a nice flush, clean look when you're not having it in use. It will also have that 2" shank for your 2" receiver, connected with a hitch pin and clip. Now the hitch pin and clip is not going to be included, but if you'd like to obtain one, you can get it on our website at part number PC3. Let's start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest distance will be the first measurement from the backside of the bumper to the front side of the rack at about 14-1/8", overall distance that we've added to the back of the vehicle from the back of the bumper to the backside of the rack at about 39-1/2", with a rear ground clearance of about 15-1/2". SportRack Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video

Today on our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee we're going to be doing a test fit of the Sport Rack Vista cargo carrier. This cargo carrier is going to measure 20" wide by 60" long, be of steel construction, and have a 500 pound weight capacity. You can see that it's going to have that 2" shank for your 2" receivers only, and it's going to be part number SR9849. Let's go ahead and get it fitted onto the back of our vehicle into our 2" receiver. Simply slide your shank into your receiver and then we'll line up those pinholes. Once you have it lined up, slide in that anti-rattle bolt and thread it in as far as you can by hand. Once you have it threaded in as far as you can by hand, take that 3/4" socket and tighten it down the rest of the way. more

Now this is designed for use with two inch hitches and it has a nice aluminum construction. Even with the aluminum construction it does still rate it out to a 500 pound weight capacity though. Part number on it is C18100. To begin the test fit we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll line up our pin hole here with our hitch pin hole. Now this is one of the lighter cargo carriers that we offer because of it's aluminum construction, if weight is going to be an issue of getting it loading and unloading this maybe a really good choice for you. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video

Today on our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee we're going to be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Cargo Carrier. This measures 15-1/2 inches by 55, has a 220-pound weight capacity. The part number on it is HR1485. Now this unique cargo carrier will allow us to use it as a stand-alone carrier as we have here but it will also go directly onto the rear of the Hollywood Racks HR1450 or the 1400, HR1400, if you remove the 2-bike addition. Using it as a stand-alone carrier as we have it today, we're just going to slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll line up our pin hole with our hitch pin hole. That done, we'll take our standard 5/8 pin and slide that through and secure it on the other side with a clip. Now the pin and clip are sold separately. more

Today on our 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee we'll be testing the Surco 24 x 60 cargo carrier for two inch trailer hitches, part number 52018. Now to begin our test fit we'll simply slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pinholes, and secure the carrier to the vehicle with the pin and clip. We'll now go over a few clearance measurements to see how the cargo carrier and this vehicle will fit together. At the rear of the carrier we have about 11 inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle here at the rear bumper is about four inches and we've added a total of 29 1/2 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. Now the exhaust on this vehicle does exit the passenger side and faces straight towards the cargo carrier. more

Today, on our 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we'll be test fitting the Curt 24 by 60 Folding Cargo Carrier, Part Number C18132.We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, lining up our pinholes, and securing Curt cargo carrier to our Grand Cherokee with a pin and clip.We'll now go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. With the platform folded up, we have about 11-1/2 inches of ground clearance to the rear of the carrier. Closest part of our carrier to the closest part of our Grand Cherokee is here at the rear bumper about 2-1/2 inches away. We've added about 13 inches to the overall length of the vehicle.We can then pull the pin at the base of the carrier to fold the platform down. With the platform folded down, we have about 6-1/2 inches of ground clearance to the rear of the carrier. Closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Grand Cherokee is here at the bumper about 7 inches away. more
