What they did is, they made it a little beefier, so it can hold a little bit heavier bikes. So, it's gonna have a weight capacity of 45 pounds, per bike now. And then it's also gonna have a maximum wheelbase of 52". The other thing to think about here is it's gonna work with wheel sizes from 26", all the way up to 29". more

Yakima HoldUp Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner- Video

Hey everybody Zach here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Yakima Holdup, on our 2015 Toyota 4runner. It's going to be a Platform Style Rack, that's going to be a Wheel Mount Style. So this is going to work out great, with a lot of different bikes, whether you're doing a road bike or a mountain bike that's carbon maybe. Since we're getting that Wheel Mount design, we're not going to have to worry about any frame contact, which is great. Now when it comes to, carrying a lot of different types of bikes, it's going to work with tire sizes of 20 inches up to 29 inches and we're going to get, a 3 inch max width on that tire width, unless you're riding at 29er, if you're riding a 29er, we're only going to be able to go to 2.5 on that tire width, so that's something to keep in mind. more

What's nice about it, we're not gonna be breaking the bank to make sure we can just get our bikes up, and start having some fun, and it is really modular. What I mean by that, we're gonna be able to fold this up and even remove that rear shank that it has, make it a lot easier to store this somewhere inside your home. And with that being great about if you do have like any kind of apartment dwelling going on, or just not a lot of room in your garage and in your home, this is gonna fold up, become really easy to store. more

So if we are taking our 4Runner down either to the trails or to the park, what's gonna be nice about this bike rack, it's gonna allow us to fit up to one to four bikes on it. One thing to keep in mind, this is not suited for like a carbon frame bike. As you can see here, our anti-sway cradles actually mount directly to our frame, so some issues we might run into there. You know, our standard men's and women's bikes, they're gonna have the appropriate frame size. Now if we start talking about kiddos' bikes, those might not fit correctly on here, so you might need to look at a bike adapter bar but that's something we offer on our site. more

So today on our 2012 Toyota Forerunner, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks, Destination platform style, four bike rack. That's part number H-R-4-0-0-0.So, I've already got it loaded up in the Forerunner, just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to hold our bikes. It actually holds our bikes by their frame. You can see how we have this one set up with our down tube here. The way this center mast and its frame holders are designed, it's so that it can work with a wide variety of bikes. Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner HR1400Z-FB- Video

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, we're going to be a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 4 Platform Style Four-Bike Rack for Fat Bikes. That's part number HR1400Z-FB.I've already got it loaded up just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to hold our bikes. Now, not only does it hold fat bikes, but it's going to hold your standard bikes as well. In this kit, you're going to get a total of 16 cradles. You're going to get eight fat tire cradles, which will hold fat tires up to 5" wide, and eight standard cradles, which will hold standard tires up to 3" wide.Now, right away, even though it can hold all these bikes and a wide variety of bikes, you're going to be able to tilt this bike rack away so we can get into that rear hatch. The way that's done is you want to remove the snapper pin here, and keep in mind when all of the bikes are loaded up, it is quite heavy. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner HR1450Z-85-FB- Video

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, we're going to be doing a test fit on a Hollywood Rack Sport rider, SC2, platform style, two bike rack for fat bikes with cargo carrier. That's part number HR1450Z-85-FB.Now, not only does it carry fat bikes, but it's going to carry your standard bikes, too. So with this kit, you're going to get your fat bike wheel cradles and your standard bike wheel cradles. The fat bike cradles are going to hold tires up to five inches wide, and your standards are going to hold tires up to three inches wide.Now right away, this bike rack is way different than other bike racks, because, for one, you can carry cargo with your two bikes. What's nice about this, is with everything loaded, you can also tilt it away from that rear hatch to remove other gear. Now, when it's all loaded up it's definitely recommended to use a second person, because it can be a bit heavy, but since we've just got one bike on here, I'll go ahead and show you how this is done.We'll remove the snapper pin here, and I'm going to lift up on the carrier slightly, just so that's easy, then pull out on that quick release pin. more

Speaker 1: Today in our 2012 Toyota Forerunner, we're gonna be test-fitting the Swagman Quad 2+2 2 and 4 Bike Platform Rack, part number S64692. We already have our bike installed on the rack, so let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now, as I said, this is a two and four bike rack, and how that happens, we have a screw up at the middle here. Once that's removed, you can remove this entire rear section and convert the four bike platform rack that you see now to a two bike platform rack if need be. This can be utilized with multiple vehicles, your cars, SUVs, minivans. However, this can also work with RVs or motor homes, as well.How the bike is held into place, we're gonna have three points of contact. more
